He came out is riding through an injury, has said it's not the bike or the team it's him that's the problem and feels he's making more progress than what's shown in the results.

Some of you just don't like him just like some of you don't like Reed.

Actually I think some of you really don't like this sport.

Okey this thread has two pages now, lets find something new to hate JS7 for quick!

He is black.
His gear sucks.
He accepts money for racing.
He only crashes.
He took out Reed.......................

Idiot.

There will come a day when Stewart is not racing anymore, appreciate the time he is racing instead of only hating on him.

I dont even want to think of when he is not racing anymore, it will be so boring and you haters will miss him.

Go JS7!

Well, metaphorically speaking, when you're starving, crap will taste like lobster. When you're well fed, it'd better be lobster.

4 top 10's? Had Red Bull never seen James ride before? James should be able to get 4 top 10's in his sleep, I would think that if you were going to put something in his contract it would be a bit more challenging than something like 4 top 10's, maybe 12 completed rounds. Lets face it who would have thought that after 4 rounds James wouldn't at the very least have 4 top 10's.

So Redbull pays Stewart millions for 4 top ten finishes. I'm sure there are only a handful of people who actually know what Stewart's contract is with Redbull and it certainly isn't David Pingree or Jason Thomas.

I had heard that they were gonna make him "Shotgun" a case of Red Bull if he didn't get 4 top tens this weekend.

Damn, we get some industry rumors and you guys want to shit on it? No wonder why the journalists don't report on alot of what goes on. This rumor wasn't made up by some clown on Vital in his parents basement, this rumor was brought to the masses by some pretty respected guys in the industry.

When I hear the word "Racer," James is not who pops into my head first. Alessi, now that kid is a racer. Poto? Racer. Racers race all year, not just SX.

I am glad he is out there giving it a go even if it only for a few top 10's.He is doing his job and I am sure he is pissed being at home alot in the last few seasons and getting injured right off the bat this season.
It's his job and doing it the best he can for his doh.Good man.
This coming from a #22 fan.
I also agree he will be retired in the next year or two.

In RacerX's RacerHead:

Ping: "There is talk that he has to get four top-ten finishes to meet the obligations in his Red Bull contract. I have no idea if that’s accurate. If he bows out after San Diego it might be a good indicator that it is."

JT: "James Stewart has been trying to ride through a torn ACL, and rumor has it he needs to fulfill a performance clause to collect his Red Bull check."

-- I've never heard anything about this rumor yet, thought I'd share. If it's true, I have a lot less respect for James who keeps trying to convince us he's still racing because he "loves racing too much," despite showing no improvement the last few weekends.
I'd be mildly interested to know just how much respect you had for James before you read today's Racerhead. I'm guessing not much. Have you ever actually seen him race, in person? If yes, isn't it already apparent by the way he rides that he loves racing? If you can't see that, you need glasses.

Would you have less respect for Roger DeCoster if you suddenly became aware that he signed with KTM for... the money?

Apparently Reed also, he rode for a SX only team too.

Nope! Both were great, but the word "Racer" doesn't pop into my head when either MC or KW are mention..

MC? First words come to mind King of SX....Smooth...Nac Nac...Style.

KW? Smooth.... Never lived up to potential....Great for the sport..

Racer just doesn't come to mind when I hear those guys mentioned.

All I'm doing is 1. quoting something interesting from Ping/JT, which makes me question 2. if it's true, that possibly means he chose to struggle through the season being far from 100%, possibly risking further injury, to collect a check (if thats true) instead of having had immediate surgery and possibly making the last couple supercrosses or being fully healed for the outdoors, and being an actual title contender. I find that questionable and worthy of discussing here. And yes, like I said, if that is all true, it'd be hard to respect that decision. Big freakin' deal.

If this is all true I hope he safely finishes up top then gets his knee repaired. Maybe one day UNICEF will get into the racing business and he should donate his time but until then he should be getting paid. Cool

Guys that have won outdoor and SX titles now aren't racers, but Alessi is. I think I've heard it all.

Sure, it's the decision you disrespect. Why didn't you say that in the first place? Whistling

And are we not having the discussion you envisioned? You probably already know this, but the whole reason sponsors pay to plaster logos on racers is so that those logos are seen while they're racing. James has so far decided to keep putting his bike on the track, keeping his sponsors' logos visible, trying to collect as many points as possible... and if it turns out that he is trying to honor the rumored terms of one of his sponsors contract, you wouldn't respect that decision? Is that what you'd like to discuss?

Dont mistake "Great Rider" for the word "Racer." Stick and ball sports the word "Gamer" is used, it's very often NOT the best athletes in the sport that get tagged with that moniker. The word "Racer" and "Gamer" mean the same to me. Racer to me covers more than just win/loss record.

I was going to quote your original post and comment on how stupid it was...but I'm glad I got a two-for-the-price-of-one deal...
