jdr shutting down?

The bass ackward belief that the government can drive the economy through taxation is frustrating. Think of the economy as a motorcycle the middle class is the engine and the 'rich' are the handlebars. It will work without handlebars but will operate directionless. Given the ability to control this powerful force and direct it the machine can conquer anything. Without the rich subcontracting out to smaller and smaller companies and entities the economy goes no where. See definition of rich: anyone that makes more than the person asked. Money changing hands in the private economy is what makes this country work. The more tied up in government the more bound down the economy gets. All it would take to change a large percentage of minds would be requiring the employee receive their entire paycheck and then be required to write the social security and with holding tax checks. No one should be happy with anyone's taxes going up. Taking money out of the real world economy harms us all. The true greedy rich would be revealed and they congregate in Washington.

I may be missing a whole lot to this....
tax rates will increase an additional 3.6% for people who earn $400,000 or more...
so on a million bucks that is $36,000.00...

If those policies force just a couple of the major players to sit on the sidelines this affects many people which in turn makes its way down to many more. The idea should be to let everyone keep as much as they can creating incentive to make more causing niche areas to open and entrepreneurs to fill the void and live the American dream. Good ideas and great inventions come form private industry looking for ways to make money not government mandates and subsidies. Part of the fulfillment of success is overcoming failure. If the social safety net is so comfortable why not kick back and use it as a hammock. If your job can be done by a trained monkey then no you shouldn't be making much money you should better yourself and rise to the challenge to be the best you possibly. Getting by is no substitute for getting ahead. I wish some one could explain how someone with a billion dollars affects some one else . The economy is not a finite piece of pie. Your job is to find a occupation that separates people from their money for a service you provide well.

Okay whom would you trust to spend that $36,000 better the guy that made it or a government that takes it? The problem is the government is already taking too much from everyone and spending like a guys night out in Vegas.

This has quickly turned into a political thread, for no particularly good reason. Can any of you who are bitching about taxes say for sure that this is the reason the team is talking about closing up shop? If not, can it.

I agree that Obama is not the direct cause to our economic crisis. But he is not the answer that he portrays himself to be. I believe him to be a muslim before an american. I believe that he cares more about himself and his power over the people than he does about the greater good of Americans. He goes against what America was built around and that opinion will not be changed for anyone or anything. I HOPE TO GOD that I get proven wrong. Unfortunately I think it is going to hit all his supporters right in the face when I am proven to be right. This is why I am preparing for a lifestyle that will allow me to survive when the bottom falls out. Hide your guns guys, you are going to need them!

This is an open forum. When a discussion starts on one subject it very often leads into other topics. I dont understand your thought process sometimes Mr B. Would you rather we start a political debate section of the forum? If so I am all for it. Fact of the matter is that our country is in a downward spiral and most are too blind to see that. If you are not scared for your future and your family, you should be. Things are going to get scary and I want to be surrounded by people who have open eyes as to what is going on currently.

There's already a non-moto section of the forum, which is where political "debates" happen. It's also like a training ground for crappy posting habits that migrate into the moto-related room, which is why I always wonder why I leave it in place. If you want to talk politics, find a politics forum.

These are the ones directly affected by the tax rape by the government. This will directly affect my business....guaranteed. When they have to pay the government another $100,000 a yr that leaves less for home remodeling, or new cars, or whatever. It is a no brainer to figure this out.

If we are talking people making a mil a year then they aren't going to come home with $100,00 a year less from the tax increases that the Federal government has put in place. They would have to be making about 2.5 mil a year for that to happen. That person is still going to bring in about 1.5 mil a year. If those people have to change their spending habits because of the tax increases then they aren't managing their money correctly. You would have thought that they would have been stashing away plenty of money over the last 10 years.

It is ignorance such as yours that this country is where it is going. Why don't you get off of Vital and go fill out more government forms so you can get your free piece of pie.

I will stay out of this topic since this is not an open forum and the topic needs to stick to exactly what the thread is about. You sure seem to hate what you do these days. It appears this thread is being shut down and I have nothing but the utmost respect for what Steve has to do to keep this place running, I have been in his position before. However if you believe this countries problems are the fault of capitalism you are sadly misguided, as you are if you believe the fault lies in one party and the current leadership is immune from blame.

Prepper, Love it! At least put your guns in a locked safe so they aren't used in a mass killing. Or, used to kill you like that kid did to his family in NM last week.

Not saying that there couldn't ever be a situation that would turn society around like you are describing, and I agree with preparing for a bad situation. But, I doubt it will happen with a president who will be forced out of office in less than four years presiding over a govt. that his party doesn't completely control with a stock market currently at it's highest in history and the new fillings for unemployment at a 5 year low. Typically, countries with a stable financial system and unemployment under 10% and still declining don't suddenly implode.

But hey, birthers, tea baggers and dooms dayers have never been all that rational to begin with. Just look at where the right wing experts predictions were a few months ago. The gap between all their delusions and reality are very large. Oh, wait, the election was probably stolen. Always an excuse and never any substantive proof. Careful where you consume media, it will consume you.

Here is a good prepper song though.

You can't just blame democrats or just republicans, it is both. It's also news to me that Obama is Muslim. Some of you guys have been brainwashed by way too much right wing radio or Faux News.

I have never said that Obama was a Muslim, just a shitty president for America. I don't believe that he doesn't know what he's doing, just that most of the people who put him there don't.

I blame fourstrokes. It wasn't long ago we were yelled at when we were pessimistic in the thread " future of motocross" I think some of the insiders here claimed how well the sport was doing...You were wrong then, and you knew it but you keep hanging on to the lie to collect another paycheck or get a free drink in the pressroom.

Maybe it's time you realize, and admit that we are heading for a cliff.US SX, US MX and FIM MX has no future. It's just a matter of time before energy money goes somewhere else. There are less visitors at the races, less riders and nobody except ex-riders gives a shit if it's on tv. I guess tv-shop has more viewers than US MX? of course the same goes for FIM MX. The ones in charge just fill their pockets. Demand new leaders and share less money in a more fair way. Make a revolution!!!
