He looked so good in the heat, that RC said he was going to walk through the main.....
JS7 could be the best heat racer in history!!!!

It couldn't be that the pain gets worse the longer he rides. That cant be possible.

He was far from fastest in his heat race. He got lucky with a start and a fact that there was a roadblock(800) right behind him.

Looking at the times for practice and his heat, you can see that things weren't exactly right for Stewart. He only ran 3 fast laps in the first practice and second practice. He was also a full second slower for the last two laps of his heat race.

He hasn't crashed in four consecutive races, I'm impressed.

The Yamaha only sucked in the mains too. I think it's the Suzuki.

I am impressed that he is riding within his limits and not crashing or quitting because he is not in front

Yep. I used to get nervous watching him PUSH to the front... Now I get the same feeling when RV2 has a bad start.

Honestly, I think he is playing it safe and not tossing away the title in the first few rounds. As the weeks go on, I thik he will get better. We haven't seen much out of Dungey and Reed either.

This is very "un-James". But I think it's a welcome change. Doesn't do Suzuki any good if he's sidelined with a serious injury and/or can't finish races.

Naive question.. I know Lenny well from supercross.com forums, was he as prominent here too? Banned? With the good and the bad, I liked him more than others.

He should always be known as "the guy who had a perfect season". This thread is stupid.

The only reason there are 458,473 threads hating on Stewart and his finishes in the first 2 rounds must be because even though they're hating on the guy, they want to see him win. Otherwise, they wouldn't give two shits if he was 7th or 20th. Only logical explanation I know of. Either that, or he single-leggedly beat "their" guy.

Lenny was banned, because like an AR-15, he looked a lot more scary than he actually was/is.....

Lenny was banned because of considerably more than that. Trust me. IMO...it was a shame, I liked the guy most of the time.

It would take honest effort to get banned here.. I understood why he got banned on SX.com, I can only imagine what he did here. I know he liked to push it, I but he musta really took a leak in someone's Wheaties to get the boot here.

Thanks for the replies guys and wasn't trying to stir poop here, I just didn't know his status on this forum.

Stewart was very clear during the post heat interview that he was lucky that he got a good start, because he wasn't riding at the pace necessary to win.

I don't know what else the fucking guy can do. He was completely honest about not being up to speed.

Gotta agree with you, Tbteam. He actually said he was clearly "not the fastest guy out there" in his heat so the start he got simply put him in the best position to lead and win. And just guessing from the way he was during his getting grilled by the announcers about his knee...I'll bet the injury is a lot worse, and the pain too, than he lets on.

I won't play Dr. Phil here...but I think he's doing the best he can with what he's been given.

He's always been great in the heat races because like Emig said Saturday, Stewart is so good at getting ready for the night program. He learns the tracks quicker than everyone else and is ready to go fast from the get go. I think it was in the outdoors he would never ride the second practice. Other guys take the heat race to learn the track and make adjusements as the night goes on.

As for this year, only having to tough it out for 8 laps helps a lot. So does only facing half of the competitive field. It's not like he's dominating heat races like he did last year and then struggling in the mains. His knee is clearly bothering him. Let's just hope he heals up soon and is 100%. If it is something requiring time off and surgery though, I'd rather him get healed up for MX.

But he set the fastest practice time?

This can't be good for a bad knee.
