I t looks like he is third from last. Should he have waited for everyone to go by before safely reentering?

That wasn't Dungey that skipped the entire first section of track, it was Freise.

Dungey got right back on where he went off while Friese RV'd it.

Very true, I just watched it again, RD was 19th coming through the woops, 17th on second lap.

Most guys look the same on the pathetic coverage anyways, but fact is two weeks in a row guys go pinning down straights avoiding sections of the track

What a friggen joke

I will agree with that...somthing needs to be done.

But when you let RV do it you cant penalize Friese, can you? Actually, that could happen with some of the double standard crap.

Thing is When RV did it he was on his own, now two riders did it but one managed to get straight back on safely and the other pinned it down a straight. At what point do you start penalizing riders now??

Now the precedent has been set and it will take a person standing on the floor to get clipped to change things

Same way they install railroad crossing arms after enough people get killed at a railway crossing.

In F-1 I have seen them penalize the points leaders many times.

You need a new TV and get rid of the rabbit ears! Dungey got back on before the turn where he should have, Friese went blasting wide around and skipped the whoops and even looked like he slammed into Albertson getting back onto the track. Did he get a penalty?
I think that may have been the worst layout for the start since '11 Jacksonville.

Nobody gained an advantage by going off the track.

It's not easy to find a way back to track with those blocks everywhere. So as long the rider doesn't gain any places it's ok with me.

I totally agree, that start was ridiculous. Are they trying to force accidents at the start now? Supermoio might want to do a bit of homework before accusing a rider who did the right thing. As far as Friese and RV (last week) they did not gain positions so no official foul, but kinda weeny in my opinion.

You do not have to gain a position to gain an advantage if the advantage is time

But you wanna accept that this is OK is fine by me, just shows how bogus this sport has become if this kind of behaviour is acceptable.

As far as having a decent Tv yes I have one, but the fact remains is what did Emig say about where Dungey was?

I think you are bogus. There seems to be a steady line of tuf blocks until the corner where it looks like they were set WITH AN OPENING to reenter the track. Maybe you prefer reading about the race on Friday in Cycle News instead of watching live. Like my mom says "some people would complain if they were hung with a new rope".

Emig made a mistake, hard to call real time, hell you have a video you can watch over and over and still you can't get it right.
I agree with you that they need to consider any advantage, position and time, not to mention risk, but at this time that's how they rule it.

Notice how Dungey slowed down and cut back onto the track at the first available spot? I guess he could have pulled a Villopoto and pinned it while skipping a section and then got back on.

Maybe they should hire you to call the shots. You have the fervor to clean up this bogus sport.

They should build tuff block walls in the middle of those straights on the side of the track! Problem solved.

When guys start riding anywhere without penalty, its pretty sad. Even as much as I detest NASCAR, at least they have a yellow line out of bounds rule at Daytona and Talledega. And it is enforced.

Once you are off the track, you are not on the racing surface, and should not get to just regain ther exact distance behind or in front of the riders you were racing with at the time of leaving said racing surface. It is desiginated for a reason. Otherwise its a free for all

If you ever want to seriously be "Primetime" then you better have rules enforced as such.

This NASCAR yellow line you speak of, you can run below it, you are penalized for passing or gaining a position when you run below it. With the layout of the tuff blocks, re-entering the track is difficult. I thought running down the side of that section was questionable, but where did you see the first opening in this case?

In this case, Dungey obviously found one so it's hard to argue in favor of Friese.

The nice part about this argument is that none of our opinions matter.
There are race officials on site, and able to make decisions based on what they feel is important.
The rest just keeps message boards hopping..
It would be nice to have the facts straight before posting tho..
