Seems as though both are struggling with setup.

is it the new air forks?

What do you guys think?

I think it's more about race fitness for Chad. RV does look like he's having a little trouble but he still finished 2nd from a fall I say that's still pretty damn good

Reed's stated that he has been having setup issues. Had to switch forks before the heat races at A1

I know he quoted that but to me he doesn't look race fit yet. He has had so much time off you couldn't expect him to be at race speed yet but trust me that will come and when it does watch out he will be fighting for the win

Reedy is standing the bike up in corners and not flowing, that's setup to me... He's always been the "I need to be comfortable" type of rider so I'll take two 4ths for the first two rounds...

when it comes to rv its not as if he never washed out the front end last year without his airforks, when you push the limits you have to expect to hit the dirt at some stage. as for chad, yes its an all new bike but hes all the resources and staff to make it happen Trey and barcia dont seem to have any issue which would make me think its more rider than bike.

2 x 4th so far is pretty good for those boinger forks. Honda wont let him use conventionals. BIt of a pisser because he's not far off the pace and the fans are missing out! Hello Honda?? Canard and Barcia might not have airforks, their riding styles are far more physical than Reeds to compansate the airfork issues if they are running them

How does Barcia have a good setup when he is a rookie, and Reed a veteran doesn't? Reed has some awesome people in his team to work it out. That set-up thing is always a weird one for me.

One setup doesnt fit all Geoff. There are subtle differences and we're only talking about 10th of a second variation in lap times. Barcia and Canard are factory kids, enthusiasm is never a match for age at the end of the day, but it does overcome problems for a short time.

Reed usually takes a few rounds to get into predator mode, always says he isn't quite comfortable and is working on set up.
Round 3-4 he dials in then we head east and Chad is lethal.

He's got 3 points on Dungey who is clearly struggling and is 9 points ahead of RV and they made a point of talking about his having set up issues.
That's not a bad spot given Chads history.

I believe with Barcia, TC, Weimer, and Milsaps all able to run top five. It's making RV, RD, CR and JS look like they are having all kinds of issues. Changing of the guard a bit. Top guys used to have a crash or bad start and turn a 12th or 14th place into a 3rd or 4th buy race end. It seems a lot tougher for them now.

So will Ryan V. I worry that Chad is a little behind the curve right now and that may come back to bite him. If he gets things sorted out by Oakland or SD -- maybe. But he had better get some consistant 3-5th place finishes in the meanwhile.

Reed is riding himself into shape and RV is getting bad starts, nothing cryptic about that. All the guys are riding great, this year will come down to who's smarter and able to score points in every round.

both these guys will be fine. Rv will light it up once he gets a start and reed will too once he gets the bike right. things are setting up to be good. no one is out of this race yet too early. RV has climbed up to 7th in points already. a few guys have had some problems and the news ones have had some good luck. . millsaps bike was the best thru the whoops period

As it has been stated many times before the season. The level of competition is just that high. I don't think there is anything wrong with Reed, he may not be completely comfortable with the setup, but now there are a number of guys capable of riding at the same pace. In previous years there would only be 2 or 3 guys able to do it.

5 months testing and 35 people working on the bike, and they have to do a last minute change?
