Good for him. I hope he does well under the red tent.

Very cool for him. Wonder why he took it the ride though. The season is almost over, and he is in the hunt for top privateer honors. Maybe he is looking at next year?

Would you pass up a factory ride?

I think that he is the best overall choice considering rider ability, ease of dealing with and past history with Tony A. I am not sure his results will improve considering the time it takes to acclimate to the bike and the surroundings so i hope people don't ride him if he doesn't set the world on fire. Props to Honda for giving him the opportunity!

They should have let both of them finish off the last 3 races on factory Honda if you ask me...Its no sweat off there balls. There are a lot of different ways this could turn out thats for sure. That extra time off should help him get a little bit more adjusted on the bike though.

The difference here being Alessi has more real paying sponsors and might not of been as available.

But that is just a guess on my part

Is there even a "Top Privateer" award in the nationals anymore? If so what is is?

I thought I read an interview with Paul Carpenter after he was 2008 SX Top Privateer where he said he thought there was a Toyota truck to the top privateer. Unfortuntely there was no truck for Paul.
