Just watched this video and thought it was surprisingly quiet? A couple of years ago it seemed kids were revving their bikes to the moon constantly while in the air and I couldn't help but feel sorry for their parents who pay for all those top ends. Nice to see these guys not doing that because it is super lame to do unless you actually buy your own stuff.

oh and pretty awesome video too btw, love these raw edits.

Also, cooper webb is a boss.

I find myself doing it a little less since EFI gave me the confidence of not having the bog of doom when landing a jump.

Thanks for posting the video. I still hear a fair amount of rev limiters in that video though. You'd be less likely to hear rev limiters coming from the 450 class. I figured I heard Webb on his 250 several times.

watch webb at 2:04, he's on a 250. I was just always a bit annoyed when I saw the young guns rev out their bikes for no other reason than show . for sure if you do it because you wanna avoid bog during the landing it's different but even then it's enough to rev your bike up when you come close to the landing, these kids get a lot of hang time over the big jumps. Anyways I just thought it's nice to see the young guys race like this.

Yeah, at Loretta's this year it sounded like multiple machine guns constantly going off every time a 250 class was on the track.

My neighbor is one of those people, as soon as he gets an engine started that was giving him grief , he revs the fuck out of it like something is stuck inside that he is trying to blow out.

Barcia!!!!!! Revving can be cool if you're the right kind of rider that can pull it off.

It is hard to no rev on a 250. When you are at a certain speed and skill level its so important to keep the momentum going on a 250. If you get caught in the wrong RPM range you are going to lose time and momentum.

Of course revving the piss out of the bike isnt necessary but what Cooper was doing in that video was absolutely fine. Especially on an SX track.

Was at a practice track ad Arnold Tonus who was Zack Osbourne's team mate this year and has beaten him several times at GP's and British Champs and he didn't hit the limiter once the whole time he was on the track. After I spoke to one of the team mechanics and he said they said they cant get Zack to stop over revving the bike.
This had me thinking. Bacia is the biggest over revver about and in the 250's and not quite dominating like lot of people thought in the outdoors. Maybe it is holding him back because he seems to go better on the 450 which as we all know if you are revving hard is going very fast indeed.

I only do it when I'm riding through the pits or when the bike is on the stand. And I like to pop wheelies and stir up dust in the pits too. Then once I get out on the track I ride like a complete vagina.Whistling

Surely it can't be coincidence that that is just about the only place on the track he isn't on the rev limiter, can it?

This video had me cracking up........listen how many times he holds it on the rev limiter in the air and then lets off right as he is landing and coasts into the turn. Laughing

Many guys rev limiter it as a racing tactic.

When I constantly hear a guy hitting the limiter into every corner, It either pisses me off and I get more aggressive or breaks my concentration and I bobble. It's one of the main reasons I started wearing earplugs when I ride.

This. Not saying everyone does it for this reason, but I think it's what started it. Imagine a guy has been on your back tire for half a lap now and all of a sudden coming off a jump going into a corner you hear him on the rev limiter. Most peoples first thought is "Damn this guy is fixing to come in hot and try to put the pass on me or take me to the cleaners" or "Damn he just endoed" either way it breaks their focus of what they're doing and can cause a mistake or bobble. It loses it's effect though when it's done over every jump on the track though.

Fawker. I was sitting in staging under the big tree at RJ Motosport in september. A guy rolls up beside me on a kxf 450 and bounces it off the rev limiter. I damn neer crashed from the scare i got. There is no need for a bike to be that loud.

Ya know, I rev and rev and rev. And I STILL can't get that damned piss to come out of there! Silly

Jordan Smith revved the bike probably the worst I've ever seen. Worse than Barcia and it got to the point where it was just stupid and annoying. It seriously is a attention thing when its brought to that level.
