Kawasaki 1st (just)
Honda 2nd
KTM350 3rd (just over KTM450)

Interesting results and comments by the riders, their own opinion of course.

Everyone's lap times were lower on the KXF, even though many preferred the CRF.

That's a great read. I really enjoyed how in-depth they tested the bikes and how the riders took into consideration things like price and reliability. But I question their results a bit. How did the 350 beat the KTM 450 in appearance by 2 points? And then they have another column for rider preference? Isn't that already baked into all the other rider choices?

Oh well, still a great job by that crew. thanks for the link.

Interesting read, though I'm not sure I have that much faith in motorcycle-usa.

I seem to remember them rating the Honda 1st or 2nd over the last two or three years and though the 09 - 12 CRFs have their good points.... considering some of the well publicised negatives (odd handling, poor clutch, weak engine etc) by a good many riders, I was surprised they did so well over those shootout years. And now Honda is 2nd again here for 2013 after every tester on RacerX pretty much gave it the old heave ho. Definitely interesting though. I can't wait to see what MXA says.

Blue bike got slated ! clutch and brake fade etc after a 15 minute ride seems a bit extreme to me.

for some reason i am still drawn to blue.... as per motocross83 comments though this is an opinion of 1 set of individuals, always a funny thing taking a write up as gospel - I think we all know we make our own decisions.

Interesting to me are the sound levels of the Kawi - quietest at tickover, loudest when being opened up...

would infer from this that exhaust flow is actually more important than the intake port on a four stroke.

All the other magazine's have the Yamaha as making the third most horsepower behind ktm and the kawi I don't think that is a shootout I would be listening to.

Cheap bikes... In Sweden the Honda for example cost close to 10700. Are we living on the same planet? Of course! It must be much closer to USA then Sweden from Japan.......

These shootouts results will also vary from track to track. I've liked bikes on certain tracks that I had hated when I rode them on others. Most of the tracks I ride at are tight and when I rode the Kawi I just thought it didn't handle quick enough and felt big but I bet if I rode at some of the slick and fast tracks in SoCal on that bike I probably would like it.

I road the 13 suzuki, kawi, honda , i currently have a really sic 12 250sx w/ 300sx kit, the suzuki to me was the sweetesr one suspension was pretty good motor was excellent, n handeling cornering was insane! Honda turned great the air fork was really nice, but to much aggravation, the motor feels like a fast 250f, the kawi was really nice to motor was the best of the three, doesnt turn as well as the hon , suzuki,, not sure if id buy one cause of the reliability issues i hear withe the 12, n im not sold on the air fork. U gotta constanly check the air pressure. Ive never owned a suzuki but that would b my choice of the 3. I race 25A 30 A mx.
