...in 2008 MX?
I think I was spoiled last year (and the year before that and the year before that..).

maybe it's just me but it seems:

flaccid
stale
insipid
lackluster
tedious and
boorring

We stayed home from Redbud for the first time in 11-years. Here's to competition in 2009,

Is the a real post or a discription of one of your sexual performances?

–noun--

a feeling of utter weariness and discontent resulting from satiety or lack of interest; boredom: The endless lecture produced an unbearable ennui.

Perhaps it's just me,

I asked a simple question. Why the hostility?

I know what you mean ol Ger, After watching BobbyM's post of the 1996 Unadilla 250 National and seeing Emig, Mcgrath, Hughes, Larocco, etc.....going at it, I realized the racing just isn't anywhere CLOSE to what it was like then.

2 big changes are the bikes/4 strokes and the tracks/to many jumps

The cure is to actually go to the track -- to go to Red Bud or wherever -- so that your experience is defined by the sport, and all that goes on on race day, not defined by remote reports and web mania.

There are more people racing than just the top 3. I enjoy watching all of them out there.

I don't understand how people can watch the race for the lead and say oh well he won by a mile it was boring? There are 39 other guys out there battling. Watch those battles for petes sake. Find a new rider to cheer for.

We were at a race on Thursday night. Watching the Motocross C class the leader was way out front. The guy in last week caught my attention because he was on a Honda CRF X model, ya know with the tail light. Everytime he braked the light came on and it was funny especially at night at a Fair Supercross race. Well low and behold on the last lap he outdragged the guy in front of him so he wouldn't finish last and it was damn exciting. Both crashed after the checkers, got up and shook hands.

When we go to Millville in a few weeks, I will be watching the battles for 8th, 20th and 31st etc or wherever the action is. Even if bubba and rv win them all how cool is that? That's not boring.

You want boring, go watch underwater basketweaving.

This. I was way less bored at Budds Creek than sitting at home listening to the webcasts, but it's not like the results were any different.

You guys dont know what your talking about... PodCast the Pro Bowlers Tour!!! Now that is excitement!! I can just sit all day listening to the ball roll down the alley and hit the pins... man!!! Makes me shiver just thinkin about it.... Much better than watching pros and ams alike pushing, night or day, their machines around in the dirt to the best of their abilities and grabbing a trophy or just having the sense of accomplishment of putting in 4 or 6 or 10 or 15 laps on a machine that can take you 20 feet in the air, launch over 90 foot jumps, drag the handlebar in the dirt on a tight right-hander, and scream down the straightway at over 50mph. I am mean come on... bowling has this beat by a mile!

Ohhh... I guess I should say that i agree with Digger, I not only follow the guys in first but all of the riders as they come past my viewing spot. Many times the best racing on the track is for 4th or 8th or 12th place. Just watch World Superbike... it is fun watching Bayliss for a couple laps as he makes his break from the pack, but watching Corser, Biaggi, Fabrizzio, and Haga going at it for 3rd or 4th is where the action is. Just watch the race @ Brno and tell me that the excitement was not the racing for 3rd with 9 tenths of a second splitting the three riders. Count to one... three riders just went past the finish line... come now... any real race fan's heart is pumping faster just thinking about that!
While watching the ams, since my daughter races in them, many times I am not just watching her because she is out front or who ever is out front but begin cheering on the riders who are battling for a position and some points. Granted, I love when there is a battle up front for first, but that does not make the race less exciting when the battle happens to be two guys (or gals) riding a whole 1.2 seconds off the leaders pace and they are battling for 6th place! - But then again... that is just my opinion...
