I think we can all agree that Gary Johnson doesn't have a chance in hell of becomming president, but, wether you are Dem or Rep, conservative or liberal or whatever label you want to apply to yourself, you cannot deny that having a viable 3rd, or 4th party would be a huge step toward reclaiming our "democracy". Therefore we should all hope that somehow Johnson can get 5% of the vote which will allow for matching fumds from the treasury for next election cycle. It is estimated that that number is somewhere around $90 million dollars. This would go a long way toward getting the libertarian ideaology out in the mainstream. You don't have to agree with it, but you cannot deny that we need more choice to lessen the stranglehold that the two party system has on our government.

An ideal result in my opinion would be a Romney win with Gary Johnson getting the required 5%.

Can we all please start calling him Obamafart?Smile

BTW, if Gary Johnson gets 5%, Romney probably won't make it.

I will be voting for Johnson and it's not because I endorse everything the Libertarians stand for but we need more of their influence in government. In fact I will be voting a straight Libertarian ticket.

Therein lies the problem. I wouldn't do it if Obama had a chance in TX, but that's not gonna happen.

If enough people, in states that are already decided would do it, he might get there without tipping the scale.

If I lived in a swing state I wouldn't even consider it.

That's a fair point. That strategy may be what Libertarians need to pursue going forward.

And I would do the same.

That is if this republican state would allow

Id be happy if the ballot would contain a "none of the above" box to check.
