Still much respect to team USA

I think barcia ,dungey and baggett gave it their all, had some bad luck also

Been hearing a lot of excuses being made, like whe should of sent other riders.

They are your national champs and you should be proud of them

Just today their happend to be a few better riders

Congrats to all, the best team won, nobody stole anything

Indeed the only thing that sucked allot was the fact that "Team USA" didn't wanted to give any signatures after the team presentation on Saturday. There was 50 people waiting on them and their bodyguard escorted team USA true "the fans" and Dungey said: Sorry guys. So I think it was a decision from above but still it sucked! But today Baggett gave me a autograph after the races and he was disappointed like hell but still very friendly! The US riders are great men!

I would love to see a race at Lommel in person. And also the opportunity to watch Tony and Jeffrey work their magic around the Lommel course. Congrats to the winners!

There's a badass attitude right there!

As "entertaining" as some of these threads are, all this chest beating and personal insults going on around here are in fact, ugly and distasteful.

Nice to read as well thought out post.

As for team USA, we got our collective butts kicked and schooled about riding in the sand, all in one afternoon. Can you say "Enduropale du Touquet" next year?Unsure

Really though, a 3rd place podium finish is not a bad way to lose. We have done much worse you know?

And Kev472 my friend, your boy Herlings showed the world he has a bright future ahead of him.

I wish more GP fans would read that article. All three of our dudes are class acts in defeat. And they gave huge props to all the deserving riders and teams.

Sure are some jackass's on these boards though.

Thanks Jimmie I hope so, we haven't had a world champ in a long while

I was listening to the pulpmx podcasts, I heard Payton say that Herlings visited Baggett to say that he was pretty impressed
With Blake's fitness

And Cairoli was very impressed with Barcia

They are all real racers, give them enough time and they can adapt to any surface

It doesn't matter what country someone is from everybody deserves respect

the key here is, all the riders respect each other very much, it's the fans that dig up all the bullshit.

going back to the everts rc rivelry, those two guys were, and still are good friends, with great respect for each other but from a fanboys perspective you'd think that they hated each other.

In another thread i read something about booing team USA. I was at Lommel, and ideed, there were same ***holes the were booing team USA. I really can't understand that. I enjoyed watching them ride irl. It's not like we can see that every weekend. I'm happy they showed up this time. I was a bit afraid after Lierop 2004 but they came.
I think they did very good, concidering it was their first time in Lommel. Barcia impressed me a lot.

That track was gnarly. I should have listened to the Europeans when they said it's completely different. I also should have bought into the Herlings sand master hype a bit more. We got our ass handed to us by Cairoli, Herlings, Germany, and Belgium. Had to be the roughest track the Americans have ever ridden.

There is a track here in WI called Grantsburg. The guys that ride there on a regular basis own the race when they hold them. These guys go to other tracks and dont do as well there. Having track experience on that track is a huge advantage. The Euros did great this weekend and really impressed the shit out of me. That said. I would love to see Cairoli and Herlings and a few others come to USA and add to the talent pool......
