I've been trying to stay out of the election BS on message boards and Facebook. But there is something I've been wondering. Many of the pollsters are doing their best to convince the world that Obama is walking away with it. In 2008 Obama won by what 4-5 points in the final count. With record turnout from people who voted for him who had never or don't normally vote and more than likely won't bother.

I have talked to plenty of people who voted for him that regret it and would vote for anyone but. Does anyone here know someone who voted for McCain that now feels they need to vote for Obama?

I guess when they throw in the 4-5% fudge factor they cover themselves pretty good. Maybe pollsters are like weather people, they never talk about yesterday.

They ALWAYS say the Democrat is doing better than they really are. It is no secret.

Yeah, I know. Rasmussen is probably the most reliable and he has it bouncing back and forth within a couple of points. I'm just more curious if there is anyone out there who voted last time but not for Obama who is now going to, if not he's gonna lose big.

Sorry, maybe there is somebody here that is going to do that. Have to wait and see if they chime in.

Huck will. That`s why he changed his name to huck.o where "O" stands for Obama.

The uneducated masses don't understand polls or what different polls you can have so don't take much stock in them.

I don't want a president I like and I don't want a president who thinks he's a comedian. I want a president to take care of problems. There wasn't a single good choice on the GOP side, at least Romney has taken on big tasks in the past and accomplished things. That's by far the better of two less that ideal choices. Four more years of president rock star/comedian and this country is never coming back.

Four more years of Congressional deadlock and your country is never coming back.

Sad if the masses are uneducated, that means you are in desperate need of socialized quality education. Vote for the pres that is more likely to fix something like that. Well educated masses will create trickle up economics.

That's the last thing we as a country need. We need to untie the hands of our teachers and let those that can't do it fail.

Ironically I doubt you know the diffrent types of polling that is out there and your country is socialized... Please explain the differentials in polling types and what they mean.

So the masses are uneducated but the education system does not need to be fixed so that the masses can become educated? You called the masses uneducated, not me, you brought attention to a problem. If that is a real problem, it is bigger than wether I can answer your extremely general question or not. Hopefully you are one of the "few" Americans that know how to interpret polls. I do not think that my daughters deserve a better education than others, just because I may be richer than most others. A system where your parents income dictate your level of education is an extreme waste of talent and an extremely dumb and wasteful way to select people and cut people out of a talent pool. It is as if a football team could only draft the ten players that had the richest parents, out of lets say a thousand. Not the best out of those thousand, only the best out of the ten with the riches parents. Low education levels are a problem, no country benefits from it, not even the USA.

We have a culture problem not an education problem. Asian kids don't seem to have any problems getting educated here.

The polls are bouncing around these last few weeks due to the Conventions.

Let's see where we end up after this latest madness in the middle-east.

In 2008 the popular vote was 69,456,897 to 59,934,814. Obama received the most votes for a presidential candidate in American history.

If that is true then there is one vote change. Is there anyone that voted for Obama last time that will not vote for him this time?

That will be me.

I vote republican 95% of the time. However in 2007 I just could not pull the lever for McCain. First time I have ever voted Democrat in a presidential election. I admit, I believed the hype, I thought Obama was sincere and the lesser of two evils.

Dole almost had me vote for Carter...............almost, that was a nose holder vote for me.

Out of Carter, Mondale,Dukakis,Clinton Gore and Kerry I had to pick the absolute worse time to try the other side!

I won't be fooled again.Blush

This whole middle east thing could decide the whole thing depending on where it goes. I don't know which one it will help either.

Because you don't understand what I'm referring to when I say uneducated masses and you take that to mean the population is uneducated is all I need to know about a socialist education. Because they didn't teach you reading comprehension in a socialistic education system means you can't figure out my second post either.

I actually told you what we needed to do to make our education system work again. You decided to ignore that and put words in my mouth. Drives me nuts.

It starts at the local level, which means you can do something effective you simply choose not to because you don't know how or don't want too.

Congressional deadlock is the only thing that has a chance to save us.
I really don't give a shit who wins the Presidential election as long as he doesn't have Congress too. That's when all the bad shit happens.

No matter who wins, it's going to be four more years of that same old bullshit.

Mitt and Barack are really not all that different, and even if they were, both are puppets on a string and neither have the balls to do what is right for this country.

I have to say, I completely disagree.

Romney may not be "the man", however he will be a bit of fresh air compared to the last 4 years.
