I remember racerhead posting a picture of a Socal track with white fencing and saying something like...wait till you see this track.
Well the jury is in, the riders and fans have voted, and yet no mention of what went on in Elsinore other than 250 championship. Not one thank you to the track workers who basically pulled off a miracle, or the fans who weathered the heat and outrageous fees in a down economy, just nothing...sounds like Elsinore was a big disapointment even for that crew.
I personally think it's one of the best vet tracks in socal next to milestone.
I'm just saying it was odd the first paragraph started with photos of a joy ride rather than an explanation or next years improvements or plans or some kind of sentence acknowledging the national event.
It was an major event in the past week, yet no mention in Racerhead.

Lake Elsinore has come and gone in different arrangements over the years, and since the new group took over, it's safe to say that it's never looked better. There will always be folks who want to see other tracks and facilities on the schedule, but I hope everyone gives this place a chance—God knows they've done a great deal of work out here to make it work.
I'm sorry, but I love Glen Helen and always will. Won my first race at Glen Helen and attended my first national at Glen Helen.
Now the sport has given Elsinore a chance, what now? Will Elsinore be on the schedule next year? The dirt is going no where so your stuck. I think it's a fair question, what is the future of Elsinore?
I am sorry but I took Friday off, and I don't let anyone else ghost write my part of Racerhead or anything else I write online or in the magazine or anywhere else. I went riding motorcycles on Friday, something I barely get to do much of during the summer, and tout I would be back in time, but I wasn't.
Lake Elsinore was a very good first event, albeit with lots of little things to fix. It will be the finale of next year's Lucas Oil Motocross Championship, with much better event organization, will-call set-up, traffic and fan flow and a big list of other tweaks. I was very happy with the outcome and the future potential, and almost every rider I spoke to was pleasantly surprised with the track, which came together in a very short period of time. The Nancci family, TimCotter, Marc Peters and his crew, everyone who helped at Lake Elsinore should be very proud of what they pulled off in less than one year.
I don't think we're "stuck" at Lake Elsinore; I think we're hoping to be allowed to return for years to come.
I would have written that in Racerhead but I took the day off, my first of 2012. Don't read anything more into the lack of mention on my part. But we are already working on next year, and addressing a lot of adjustments and improvements, including the ongoing challenge of folks who don't want to give the place a chance.

This thread should die, but it just goes to show that DC really is a class act and can take the criticism that is dished out to him.
Once again Dennis, you have proved you are a douche and that nobody cares what you think about anything, especially Elsinore. Seriously, give it up and go away. You add nothing to this site.
And then you have Dennis, watching from home and rooting against the success of the event, joining this board seven days before the race and then laying it on early and often... But that's okay -- everyone has an opinion. Send me an email, Dennis with all of your criticisms and concerns and I will try to address them.
Again, I didn't cancel Glen Helen three years ago, and I even met Bud in January at his office to mend fences and discuss future projects. It was a good meeting, and he has some good ideas, but not something that works as part of this series right now. You never say never in a sport like motocross, where we're all in it together (at least that's how I look at things).

So does anyone know what materials they can bring in?
Would 400 loads of sand to break up the dirt a little more evenly work? Then build the tracks earlier in the summer and link them two weeks before the race.
Just some thoughts ....
I attended the Press Day months ago & I was impressed.
The viewing aspect & or fan viewing aspect I'm sure they'll address.
The place was HOT yes, but hey it's PRO MOTO and that's what 1 wants, to test the strong and
reveal the weak. Even my boss gave it good reviews.
Plus I always like ending the series in Cali.
Not cause I live here, but cause it works for everyone with the MXoN being right of the back of it all.
Onwards & upwards to 2013.

Dennis still can't get over having a National at Lake Elsinore. Btw, this thread is an attempt, by him, at trying to be nice about it...sorta...
The Chauffeur for the KTM Exec's, the guy that was out there in that Heat for several days & PERSONALLY made sure his side of things went right, well, that guy actually took a day off to ride a motorcycle? Nope, I ain't havin' it. DC don't ride...
The Gallery is almost disappointed that DC responded; yet, they've rallied around his "points"? Cool.
A guy named "breakingbumps" bitches about the track that returned us to Carlsbad-era "Braking-Bumps"?
"Supercross" & "Flat Track" are thrown around as insults? Not in my World.
Still, I jus' love this place!
I remember the 80's when the Spotted Owl lies were going on near where I lived. Placer and Nevada Counties were never the same and the jobs lost were in the thousands.
You see me as rooting against the success of Elsinore but I saw you rooting against the success of the MXDN at Competition Park. I remember you posting photos (jabs) of an unfinished comp park. We both want to see races at worthy venues, me the national at Glen Helen and you probably thought the MXDN should have been at High Point. It was insane to try and build a MXDN worthy track at Comp Park and it's insane to try to build a better track than Glen Helen on a lake bed with so many restrictions. By not giving Glen Helen a multi-year contract ( was that the reason???) you forced fans like me to take a side. My loyalty is to Glen Helen since it's my local track and they provide a place for me to ride and race. I appreciate your response because I thought you ducked the topic in Racerhead. You can continue to race at Elsinore but you need fans like me to show. I beg you to end the drama with Glen Helen and I beg the owners of Glen Helen to end theirs' because the fans of the Los Angeles basin know the best location for the national. I don't dislike you in any way, I just strongly disagree with your proposed location for the 2013 Socal national. Thanks guyb for allowing me to voice my opinion.
Glad I did not have to wait in will call for my ticket...big line there.
Watching the race was tough to see much from the infield but not any worse than watching at Washougal. Found a great spot on a hill by the big double and could see most of the "outdoor" side of the track.
And it was super hot! Left after the first Moto's. It was a little slow out of the lot but no issues once on the road.
Very much enjoyed the day! I will be there next year.
You sound just like a 4 year old whose Oreos got eaten by the kid next to you in the kindergarten playground - and is still butt hurt about it 20 years later.
