Congratulations to Jeffrey. He has done some pretty douchey things this year, but he was the best rider in the class, so he deserves the title. I would have liked to see Searle pull it off, though.

The fact that Bagget, Tomac, Roczen, Barcia, Musquin etc. CHOSE not to contest the series should not diminish the validity of the "world champion" title.

You can call it a world championship or whatever you'd like, but I don't think you can argue that it's a major accomplishment to win either series.
