I saw it on the news, it's awesome played back in slo mo, the expressions on their faces are weird, like zombies. Not sure but I think chopping the throttle like that may not have been a good idea. A motocrosser would have gassed it! there were some serious injuries, probably the driver hit his head. Preppy ass cigar boat wannabes! Mock boat racing! Butch would have saved it!

Excuse my ignorance, maybe that ain't the throttle on his right? Real boats steer with a tiller.

That's the Boating equivalent of the D-Bag Bentleys I see around here...that're driven by the very same 'Tards.

Classic!

I was in a boat accident as a teenager, not being wreckless, just hit a cypress knee coming into a remote canal. And next thing I know I'm swimming. That was 100x more violent than any mx accident I've ever had. Luckily everyone got tossed out and clear of the boat but the whole console was broken off so there was some serious force on impact.

Sounds like there were some serious injuries. Apparently the driver was experienced, so my guess is he was throttling down as the boat was coming out of the water over the wake.

This was posted on a power boat forum:
"Hey guys, I was a passenger in this boat during the accident. Yes, there are many cardinal rules broken. The most important one I feel is no life jackets worn. As crazy as it seems, we had jackets for each person but as the poker run began we realized no one else was wearing them..... How foolish we were. I have read so many nasty comments on YouTube and other sites I am in shock. My wife suffered 4 broken ribs, punctured lung and a broken foot. She has not left the house since getting home. She is in severe pain. The driver crushed his eye orbital and broke hus back at T8 ( he is a former F-2 racer with APBA). Another passenger who raced professionally for many years broke his pelvis in several places and is in a wheelchair. One of the other girls crushed her eye orbital also. The guy from lake tv fractured his hip and broke his wrist. My injuries were minor compared, busted my head open and damaged a rib or two. Everyone is black and blue. This was a very upsetting event for everyone involved. I have been around powerboats for many years and it only takes on unguarded minute to loose a life or permanently hurt people you love. I am very thankful this did not end up worse. I hope everyone learns from this. I know I will boat differently. All of the guys in the boat are members of OSO. I think it is necessary to break down the accident and discuss this, just remember these are real people who like you who love power boating and do it every weekend."

You got me...

But, for one thing...

It's Un-F-n Belivable that the boat was soooooooooo equipped for that kind of impact...which makes this accident really...STUPID.

I'm jus' sayin'...

Sorry not sure how to get the embed code on a iPad. But here's the whole thing. You see that pontoon boat hauling ass!
thats terrible about the little girl too.. i would give anything to not come across a scenario like that, how sad.

having said that, i dont necessarily understand the guy that was in the boats comment?.. they KNEW they were being filmed, boated unsafely, and to top that off, continued at that rate of speed?! i can say first hand ive ridden a street bike sans helemt, and test rode shop bikes without one too, but my rate of speed and caution senses were on full alert, and speed bursts were quite limited. It is true; there are those that have gone down, and those that are going down

Agreed. Purely stupid to put everyone at risk like that. It's one thing to be careless with your own life, but that guy was responsible for 6 other people, plus who knows how many other boats in the area.

Boating is one of those things that one second everything is going good and smooth, then the next moment you can be in for the ride of your life. There are no brakes and boats dont turn unless under power.

I lived on a lake in Florida for 20 years and have seen enough stupidity and a few dead guys as a result. I can't count how many people hit docks on PWC's because "it wouldn't turn". Stupid hurts.

Yet, you were...ARE ...right to post that guys comments.

We've ALL done "Stupid".

Tonite I was doing "Stupid Hypocritical".

Thanks for the Doc Holliday check.

I believe that was at lake of the ozarks. Back in the day when I was single we would hang there on holiday/summer weekends and have the time of our lives! (search party cove lake ozarks when not at work computer).
Every 2nd or 3rd time down there, we would see a capsized boat or some type of accident. the main problem was the shear volume of boats. High dollar BIG ass fast boats, and small ones as well. A 23 foot boat on that lake is like a canoe.

We most likely passed each other on the lake at some point.

The whole lake is one gnarly wake from end to end. Easily up to six feet high. Really fun on a jet ski though, that is until your back starts hurting. Imagine riding big ass whoops for hours on end.

And every time a non-rider sees a motocrosser auger into the ground they say "look at that idiot going so fast and being reckless. Of course something bad happened."

Why didnt he handle that over-powered POS better? Its all simple math. The size of the engine on that type of watercraft is directly proportional to the IQ and pecker size of the boat owner.

The bigger the boat engine, the smaller the winky and lower the IQ of the owner/operator. Textbook over compensation.

Here's my ride,, I let you Freudian braniacs do the math....

I build them pretty strong, poor lady was temporarily trapped beneath. Good thing the gunnels held this 21'er up off of her!!

From this.

To this.

And unfortunately this.

Gunnels fully intact after impact as seen here. Amazing 3/8" Meranti some glass and epoxy are this strong!
