Is the media a 4th branch of the government?

Scary times we are living in. Maybe some dont care, and Im just worried about nothing, but it seems like every day more and more bullshit gets exposed.

The media just like the Government has separated itself from the people long ago with an agenda of deception for their own personal gains. They might as well be a branch of it.

I think its ridiculous that each media outlet has a democrat or republican bias...the media just plain doesn't understand their roll in a Free Society. They've forgotten (as is pointed out in the video) that they are there to keep the government (government agencies) honest and hold them accountable to the American people (even if they lie, the media will tell the truth...so the government needs to fear the media), and let the American people know what is happening...but in modern America, the media now is trying to push the agenda (good or bad) for their preferred party, and the government doesn't fear the media any more.

From my point of view, Propaganda is becoming more and more recognized. Within the mainstream of politics and anything that correlates within the government that empowers what is - We have been fed the same rubbish over and over with very little promises and a certain tone of static jargon. I don't vote and I don't watch the news. It's best to dedicate your time and curiosity to your world not the entire world.

Ever since the media including Murdoch pushed past the laws and regulations prohibiting single entities from owning multiple media outlets the era of media independence has all but disappeared. How can NBC be unbiased when it is owned by GE and Comcast. The Wall Street Journal owned by Murdoch, and so on... Once again a picture perfect example of how deregulation helps us all. In fact maybe the worst outcome for us of all types of deregulation.
