Since I was a kid we have been going south to the Florida keys diving for lobsters and hope to do it with my grandkids some day but two years ago a friend invited us to Homosassa springs for some shallow water scalloping. We went this last week and it was a perfect place to try out the new GoPro hero 2 and Honda hooka rig. It is a river that flows from a large cold spring out to the gulf. The bottom is like tile floor and the scallops are all on top and easy to find. The river is lined with bars with live bands and hundreds of boats partying 7 days a week for the season. After you join the floatilla of boats out scalloping you come back in the river and maybe stop and hand your bucket off to people shucking your bucket of scallop for $10 while you grab a cold one or just head to the cold fresh water spring to cool off. Perect vacation for young kids. We stayed an extra day and it rained so we made this video while drinking heavily. It is Pretty long but funny and actually its the short version. My buddy wants me to post the whole ride out where I pass about thirty boats winding through the channel out to the gulf. He said its like Rc fell in the first turn and is going to the front.

Lobster bruschetta!
Looks awesome. If I ever do get a place down there, I'll bet I'll be kicking myself in the ass for not buying the place sooner.
"Florida keys diving for lobsters" Damn, i cant even begin to imagine how incredible it would be to pluck a lobby fresh out of the water and cook that baby up! Makes my mouth water, one of my all time fav seafood. (tied with coconut battered prawns)

That is a beautiful view you have there in the keys Tbteam. My dads brother lived there until just a fews years ago and we would sail there a lot. Our favorite bug spot though is the south end of the seven mile bridge, limited out up to 30 people out of the sleeves on the bridge for probaly 30 years straight and will this year too but we have been doing regular season for the last few and luckily/hopefully the sleeves are always full. Every few pilings on the bridge starting from the south end have a 6 inch plus wide sleeve around them that have hundreds of lobster in each one and really easy to get, you just grab them until you can not reach anymore and then use a dip net and grab three at a time as they can only escape out of the top. The place is beautiful and has some of the best structure and topography around. Don't tell anyone. lol good times.
