I wasn't asking about what words he was saying, I was wondering about context. Or do you believe that there is some philosophical disagreement about where roads and bridges come from?
You're better than that.
Perhaps it's not so much "partisan hackery" as it is maybe just a "different point of view"?
Anyways, who am I to attempt to self moderate this eclectic bunch of knuckleheads (of which I am one also ) on this site anyways?
Have an awesome weekend oldfart.
From his words he either meant:
"All you successful business owners didn't do it on your own because society came together to provide infrastructure."
In which case, NO SHIT! EVERYONE agrees on the government's role in providing infrastructure, rules of law, public education, national defense, fire protection and some form of public safety regulation. Infrastructure and those other services are a universally understood and agreed-upon function of government. Please, Mr. President- provide us with more banalities that counter no ones argument (unless he thinks Romney is an Anarchist).
Or he meant:
"All you successful business could only thrive with the government, your success is not a function of society, but a function of government control and guidance."
That is absurd. All of those things he mentioned are a constant for nearly every citizen and success occurs much less frequently. We all make use of all of those core government services, yet we are not all successful, why do you think that is? Roads and bridges and teachers and fire departments are not what separates liberals and conservatives, it's the OTHER crap the government spends money on that there is disagreement about (you know, the crap the President didn't talk about).
And I would guess that the President (and oldfart) haven't got a clue how large public works projects are even built or financed.
Revenue or the road?
School or revenue?
What came first?
Government or revenue.
To be clear the word trade can be used instead of revenue.
Pit Row
Maybe when he gets back he can explain how that whole "Industrial Revolution" thing happened without massive federal government spending?
Which is it? Banal or collectivist?
Looking for the government and its programs to fix the economy is like investing through your credit card. It's flat out inefficient, and it's only getting worse.
The government's job is to provide infrastructure. Frankly, they need to invest more into infrastructure to help the economy. It is not the government's responsibility to create jobs.
Every business owner in America has the same opportunities. Some fail, some succeed.
