Sweet find! Looks great. I had an 88 and my riding buddy an 89. I always like conventional fork better for some reason. I moved on to a 93 and him to a 95. Should not of sold my 93 as I worked at HOT when I had it, and it was loaded with 1 race dumpster diving parts. One of my jobs was to take out the race shops garbage, and I had permission to dumpster dive after hours. Didnt buy tires for years.
That's awesome.

Just shut up....bad enough the condition you found it in then go and rub it in what you paid for it. You suck and I feel comfortable saying that with out even knowing you. If he was the original owner check to see if he had the updated cartridges installed. They had a set available back in 89 for no charge to CR owners.
LoL. Thank you. I will get with him on the cartridge update and see if he had it done.

Anything you can do to improve the forks would be good. I had mine revalved and never did get them to a place where they felt good. I loved the motor on that bike but it would have severe bouts of headshake from time-to-time. These were usually on a high speed straight in 4th or 5th gear and I know it took years off my life. Probably related to the forks but I was only 18 at the time and didn't have money to fix it.

Bottom line from my experience: Fix the forks and that bike will be awesome.

ps. Funny that the rear brake bolt is broken since I broke 2 of them on my '89.

Yup. You are going to "find" yourself in second place from now on. Just because you are my brother doesn't mean squat. When the gate drops, brotherly love stops. Cool

Good looking bike! There were quite a few owners back then putting the front end off of the 87 CR250 on there to make it better. I see them on the Evilbay cheap from time to time.

As for the 89, I had one and had Noleen do the forks and shock. They did a great job on them. You must have been born under a lucky star my friend!!! Im jealous big time !!!
