What MX Sports Medicine said the first time. I love JS7 because of the "OMG did you see that factor?!!?."

Will be a sad day when he hangs them up......love him more than any other sport person or team, motr than THE LEAFS even.

I drove over 2000 miles to see him this year in TO. I was disappointed he couldn't make it, but if I couldn't watch the REAL JS, that's o.k. I would have been more disappointed to see him get 5th, and not seem him ride amazing.

I wish he still rode like 125 days.

FOR ME what you describe is not Motocross, At all.

.
I like watching him too.

In my book, you're either injured our you're hurt. If you can get a top 5 in a 450 national, well... Who cares if he gets 15th, either way the cameras are going to be on him the entire time giving his sponsors the exposure the pay for.
But if you can't hold on, you can't hold on. If he lets go and becomes more injured then he hurts the sponsors even more. Better to heal up I think.

Would you prefer watching a wild but short career? Or a more controlled but longer career?

It may not be your preferred method, but it's smarter in the long run. And it is motocross.

It seems to me it is sponsors that are paying. They care about only one thing, increasing sales of their product by associating their product with a rider. James stands out whether he is on the podium or not and whether he wins the championship or not. All eyes are on him and that is what sponsors are about.
Right. But he also has to be on the track, and not sidelined with injuries for maximum benefit.

But James was riding well, until a photographer ended his 4 moto winning streak. But many people watch James because he is so fast and takes bigger risks, he does obstacles that others don't do. That is way fans and sponsors are attracted to him. Sponsors and fans also know they may not get maximum benefit but they still want to see him ride, and as we know, in this sport, injury is part of it.

Alessi mentioned that he was the only one that's raced all the SX and MX events so far.

Has anyone asked him to compare the Dungey/Freestone 2012 pace to His/RC pace of 06/07.
I would like to hear from Dungey to see if the pace with James was faster this year than it was last year with RV and Reed.

Alessi top tier in MX but not SX. Metty is good but do we consider him top tier? I guess clarification should be made for top tier. How many guys are top tier?

Justin Brayton has raced all the races, he just didn't make the main one night in SX. He's definitely on tier with Alessi overall.

It's probably hard for him to say since he's on a completely different bike. I'm guessing from the way that he was trying to keep pace at freestone it is though.

Alessi finished sixth overall in SX, with a best finish of fourth.

Chisholm (11th in SX) sat out Vegas to get ready for the outdoors.

Metcalfe (8th in SX) has also raced all the events.

As for the argument for who's top tier, that's like judging ice skating...and we have a lot of Russian judges in here.

I guess my definition to mean top tier as when all healthy who would be top 5. CR, RV, RD, JS, TC,

Ice skating? LOL

Pretty much. Top 5. Am I way off? Top tier is the just that to me. Yes MA, Chisholm, and Brayton are fast but top tier with the likes of RD, CR, RV, JS, and TC? Don't see it.

Did he really?

Did he Qualify for ALL the races this year?

Seems to me he was in street clothes standing next to me as we watched his team-mate get loaded into an ambulance at the LA-SX...
