I have a 12 150sx with four rides on it, less than 2 hours total of ride time. I bought 6 new ktm's for the family and love all of them, but I love my 250sx more. I weigh 230lbs, It was bought from lesko in Kansas and ran perfect at the shop. When I busted it out in Ocotillo it was flat down low, and I mean FLAT !! I didnt want to mess with jetting out in the dez so I rode my 250 the whole time. I just started it yesterday and it ran great around the shop, but it is still too fat down low for minnesota and needs to be rejetted to get the low end grunt back it had at leskos. I of course have all receipts for it and paid like 6 something. I'd let it go for the right price. Lets talk,

This is off OP's topic B DUB, but the stock jetting on the SX leaves a lot to be desired. Get yourself a Suzuki NECJ needle (ten bucks, part no. 13383-37FEO) and run it in clip #4, a 40 pilot, 160 main if you're running pump gas. If you're using race gas use clip #3. You will not believe the difference this jetting makes for this bike, smooth and clean bottom to top.
YOU just saved me a lot of work, THANK YOU!!! Ill order the parts this weekend.

KTMs use massive mains. I run a 192 in my 125sx. You have to find someone with a modded 500 to borrow jets from if you ever need one at the track. the japanese 250s use 168s or so.

try setting the float tang just a tad leaner than what the manual says. works wonders. or just call Chip Munn. That guy can jet a KTM over the phone.

Sure. 192-195 for a 125 and a 210 for a 150. seems about right to me. how about you?

you want a strange look from someone, find a guy with a YZ250 and ask him for a "210 main". watch the look on his face when you say it's for a 150cc.

Ha, sorry I misread your post and thought you put a 192 in your 150, but it's a 125 so yeah that sounds about right.

The rediculous thing is, over here 150's come jetted stock with something like a 185.

Haha, I'd bet you'd get some weird looks indeed. I think the biggest size actually made for this carb is a 230. A friend of mine tried this once. It ran a little soft and sloppy but it didn't even bog. (In cold weather that is).

yak651 said earlier in this thread that he's running a 190 main in his '12 150SX.

I bought one last September and love it. Went to 51T rear sprocket, higher windham bend bars, and setup the suspension and thats it. Didnt have a single problem yet. Soooo much fun. After reading this thread I might play with the jetting though now.

Does that needle make that much of a difference that you can run a 160 main? I ride a lot of sand, but right now with the stock needle I'm running a 190 main. Now that it's getting a little warmer I'm probably going to go back to a 185 and see what the plug looks like, but I think a 160 would be way lean.
I should have been more clear than just stating it was off the OP's topic. B DUB was talking about his 250SX and it's jetting troubles. The jetting I speak of is for the 250SX, sorry for the confusion. Definitely don't put a 160m in your 150SX.

Probably totally different weather/altitude than here (Western Europe).

Either that or it is wayyy too lean.
