Guy you have seen him ride first hand on the Zook, what's your opinion on how he looks/feels compared to the Yammi?

Straight up? After watching @js7 ride today, we haven't seen him look this good in quite a few years. Full lock-to-lock whips on back-to-back jumps, etc.
well you should know steve...i have been hearing that it may be back to the time when his leads were measured by minutes and not seconds.

uh oh...

Isn't that about how Pastrana always looks right before smashing himself into the ground trying his TP rolls? Just imagine he's falling straight out of the sky at 40mph...

From the picture it seems like it might be a pretty low-impact crash if he were to catch something, but the video makes it quite clear that it could be a bone breaker, considering just how far down the hill his speed takes him. About this far:

Enough showing off for the cameras, James-- we need a competitive series here! BUT if you need to reach into your bag of tricks while going for a pass on Dungey late in a moto, then by all means...

Man....Do you think other pros log on and watch these new helmet cams? I mean its all everyone is talking about now,He is looking really good on the bike and its obvious he's enjoying himself right now.

The funniest thing is all the people backfliping there opinions on him , its friggen hilarious.

Is it just me or did the sound of the engine on the JGR Yamaha sound so much better than the Suzuki? I'm not saying that one or the other is more powerful or anything like that...Just the sound, especially when hitting the rev limiter, the JGR engine just sounds good, almost exotic compared to what you hear in the other GoPro videos. And I know I'm comparing an engine tuned for SX vs one for outdoors, I just wonder what tricks the JGR team had going inside of their engines.

Hey everyone! So this is the last breakdown column from Monster Energy Supercross. What started out as something cool and different turned into a weekly column. And I'm very happy to be part of it.

But first I want to start with some big news: James Stewart. If you didn't know he went to Suzuki and I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of reading another Stewart article but this touches on something different.

First off, there have been a lot of journalists talking about what they think "might" happen with James and the Nationals. Now I'm not a journalist by any means, but, I, Matt Walker, have raced against James Stewart, as well as Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed, Ryan Dungey and all the big names. So I feel like I can give a different analysis on the situation. Now here is my opinion: James Stewart will be your newly crowned National Motocross 450 Champion! They might as well go ahead and mail him the plate! Here’s why:

Like I mentioned before, I've raced all these top guys and I can say for certain that all the top riders are great in their own way. But no one has all the "goods" like James. And he knows it. Of course he does. Look, he beat me like I stole something from him, and he was on a 125 and I was on a 250F! He did Reed the same way in ‘02. Point is, when James is happy, James is fast, and when he is fast no one can beat him. I mean I love RV to death, but he’s out, and with a healthy/happy Bubba out there, things could get serious.

A lot of people think he will crash hard this summer, but when I raced him, the guy never crashed! Why not? Because he was happy! Even getting out powered by 250Fs, he was happy. And the dude went 24-0 a few years ago. That should speak volumes about how consistent he can be. For whatever reason he wasn't happy on the Yamaha. I personally like the YZ450. And have no issues riding it. But I'm not James Stewart and neither is anyone else and at the end of the day he had to do what's right for him.

I keep hearing about the money, and how he gave up a bunch from JGR to go racing for Suzuki. Listen, as fans, you have to understand that these guys are all WINNERS. They want to go out winning. James Stewart won’t go out without winning again. That's what he wants to be remembered as. And if a few million is what he decides he needs to do to start back winning, then I respect him more than ever and so should you!

When the industry people like GuyB or riders who have faced Stewart, like Matt Walker, are talking, I listen. I think the dude is back to his old style. I hated watching him on that Yamaha because he looked like a normal rider. When he was on the Kawasaki, he looked inhuman on the thing.

I am very excited for this outdoor season.

One thing is certain... it wasn't the engine that JS had a problem with.

Don't forget that the Yamaha has the air box up front so when they open the throttle you can hear that air sucking in through the air box.I agree though the Yamaha does sound good.
I would have to say that as far as power ,they are probably about the same. All those top engine builders get about the same HP within a couple.
What I do notice is that James seems to ride this bike allot smoother and doesn't seem to be on the limiter half as much as he was on the Yamaha.

I also agree with Matt Walker in that when James is comfortable and confident "and happy",, I don't think anyone can touch him.

Look at the 3rd paragraph... The one that reads something like "Now I'm not a journalist by any means"

It's like the real James Stewart has come back after a couple of years on Mars. Doesn't he just already seem so much happier on the Suzuki? He really is looking more and more like his old self (pre 2010) with every ride. I know practice vids are one thing and AMA Nationals are another but it's more than that. James has his old swagger back.

I'll primarily be rooting for RD but I hope JS can regain his old form too.

We know RV2 won't be passing him anytime soon. How is he doing?

Hopefully RD5 and JS7 get some competition from JW21 and TR28 in RV1's absence.
Good deal. Hopefully they will ALL be healthy for the 2013 seasons or some of it or some of them.
