Do you think that, at $11,600, there’s any meat left on the bone for the restoration/resale or does it just stay in somebody’s private collection? I know the answer to the question is anybody’s guess but I’m only thinking about seeing what the end result will look like. I love seeing all the before and after pics that you and others post.

I see some pretty nice looking full works bikes trade in the $15,000.00 - $20,000.00 price range and then I see some in the 30-50 range. Then there are pretty nice ones that don't stir any interest in the $15,000.00 and under price range. I would think that Zook would be on the lower end once restored and it's going to cost a little coin to restore that one nicely. You never know who's interested in a nicely restored bike though and appreciates the time, effort and maybe a little of the passion that goes into the project. Could be some unsuspecting looking guy here in the states who still owns a little 65,000 sg. ft. castle in England or maybe someone who heads up the families worldwide moto empire.

These were production bikes that sold in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and a few Asian countries. TM and RM models were sold in the US. It has a serial number for Gods sake. ( production not factory)

My OW27 Yamaha and SR500 Kawasaki have serial numbers too. It was discussed that the RH's weren't full works bikes although the price that one fetched.... well, was a little far fetched.

That is a '75 rh. It was bought from Belgium and now resides in Queensland Australia.
I too have a '75 that is almost restored. I am also from queensland.Parts are hard to find as they don't share many if any parts with other models. Rm250a piston and I'm certain the rod is the same also. Nothing that I am aware of from a Tm fits an rh, having said that I have put a front and rear guard off a Tm on mine. The main reason for the gusseting on the rear is there were a lot of mods done back in the day to get more suspension travel. Lots of 74's were modified to turn them into '75 spec back in the day. So they were a bike originally sold to a dealer for their sponsored riders only and not for the general public. They had a spares kit to die for including a barrel, pistons, rings, exhaust and the list goes on. So semi works is close to what they are. There weren't many differences between a works one and a regular one difference. Aluminium seat base as opposed to steel is one. Mine will be raced so it isn't a ten point resto. I have also been lucky enough to have ridden a '74 rh250 as well as an rn400 ( indisputably a works bike) and they are all that! Ironically here in oz in late '75 they still had some left and were made obsolete by the rm a's so they were nearly given away and many sold to farmers to run around the property! IMO the guy that bought the one on eBay paid too much but on the other hand that's good news for me that mine may be worth more than I thought!
Another month and mine will be on the track.
