After all this talk of Villopoto going 24-0, I find it ironic that now Dungey will have a good chance to do so. I don't think it'll happen, but I bet he comes pretty close.

I don't think he'll do 24-0. He won 19/24 in 2010 though. Depends on whether he has a good setup for Hangtown. Wouldn't be surprised if he pulled off all 12 overalls though

Josh Grant is going to be the one who challenges Dungey, just wait and see.

I don't either, but this year is the highest possibility of it happening since Stewart in 08. Maybe it's an even year thing? Since Carmichael retired, the even years have been dominated and the odd years have been pretty competitive. All perfect seasons happened on even years. It's a long shot, but if Villopoto and Reed are out for the entire series, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to be honest.

Dungey- 19 moto wins

Metcalfe- 2

Short-0

Alessi-3

Millsaps-0

My prediction of the top 5 and the moto win breakdown. I'm sure by lunchtime I'll remember someone else I think will do damage and change everything though.

I think Weimer has speed to be a top five rider. He will impress some people. Maybe he could manage a win?

In no particular order;

Dungey, Metcalfe, Short, Grant, Weimer, Alessi, Brayton, Tickle, Peick, Wey, Chisholm

Maybe someone else will surprise us, but I'd bet those are the front runners. That is until injuries pop up.

I would love to see Windham give it one more shot for a title. I don't think he would beat Dungey straight up, but he could be there if Dungey had a mechanical or two.

Oh, sorry, just noticed "confirmed riders only". RD5, Millsaps, Alessi, Grant

man If I was Honda I would have to think real hard about moving Barcia up. I think he has a better chance of winning the 450 title than he does the 250f. Yup I know he is contracted by FC to ride 250f's but I bet its not going out on a limb to think that if Honda wanted to do it they could make it happen.....

Confirmed riders only? would love to see Davey Millsaps win it...

There are still two Supercross races left. Nothing's confirmed until the gate drops at Hangtown.

To those who are saying Josh Grant as a threat outdoors....bravo!! I completely agree. I'm not the biggest of JG fans, however, he's building some momentum, his health is getting to a level that he hasn't seen in awhile, and I think that if he has good endurance, builds a little more confidence, and stays consistent....he's going to be in it.

I would have to agree.

I am an admitted JG fan and would love to see him stay heathy and get some wins.

Other than Dungey, Metcalfe, and Short he is the only other guy who has won a National moto.

Not quite...

Barcia won Moto 2 of Southwick last year and Metcalfe took the overall without ever getting a Moto win

Alessi won Moto 2 at Hangtown in 2010, and Windham won Moto 1 and the overall at Steel City

Alessi went 1-1 at Hangtown and Freestone in 2009, and Tedesco did the same at Thunder Valley. Millsaps took Moto 1 at Budds Creek, Matt Goerke took Moto 2 and the overall at Southwick, and Tommy Hahn and Justin Brayton split moto wins at Steel City

In 2007 Millsaps took Moto 1 at Thunder Valley, Alessi took Moto 1 at Steel City, and Windham took Moto 2 at Glen Helen

These I pointed out are the current/active riders who won in addition to Dungey/Short/Grant/Metcalfe (overall but not a moto) who you pointed out (and are confirmed to be racing this year). Granted, we don't know if Barcia will race any rounds on the 450, we have no idea if Windham will race any rounds this year, Tedesco is in a SX only deal with H&H but who knows, he might race outdoors, Millsaps should be out there as well for at least some of the rounds, if not the full season, and Tommy Hahn will be on Canard's Factory Honda. Add into this that Stewart MIGHT race and we all know he has won his fair share of races, and Reed could come back later in the season and be a contender for wins, depending on if he runs a replacement rider or not. And that's not counting any guys that have won moto's in the 250 class but are now racing the 450 class.

People are saying Dungey will run away with it and based on last year I'd agree, but the list of past winners who are still active racers is pretty big

Dungey
Grant
Short
Metcalfe*
Barcia
Alessi
Windham
Tedesco
Millsaps
Goerke
Hahn
Brayton
Stewart

Ben Townley will surprise A LOT of people. My guess is it's gonna go down to Dungey verses Townley. But anyone from Weimer to Short to Millsaps to Brayton could step up and be a championship contender. Don't think Dungey will be blowing these guys out of the water.

Its good to be optimistic but unless RD gets injured he will smoke the competition. The only way the 450 class will be exciting if barcia moves up to the 450. I recommend you guys watch some mx1 gp action , the racing is pretty deep and exciting to watch.
