Who cares. He's 100% right.
Thanks man.

And actually I am tired of the threads too. So I made another one. Cause though I'm totally right, all of us are wrong. Plus I get on here to forget I'm at work. Not to try to win an argument with a vet dude from vermont. Or an ex pro from Cali. Or someone faster than me. Or someone slower than me. Cause I could seriously give a fuck about how fast someone is or how clever they are on on Vital. I'm here to have fun. Like, you know, dirt bike riding. Fancy, huh?

How about this option...

Since we all are thinking it's the Yamaha that has made James what he is today, and *most* people think a change in bike will fix the problem (aside from those who just think his career is over), I say James tries this:

Step 1:

Similar to option 3, start your own team on your own dime, but build/test/practice/race the RMZ for the first 5 rounds of MX (leading into the 3 week break before RedBud). Then take this time to evaluate how things have gone. If happy with the results, stay on the bike. If the results look like James' recent results, then move on to the next phase of the plan...

Step 2:

Build/test/practice/race a CRF for the next 3 rounds, leading into the 3 week break before Southwick (preferrably with red/white/blue graphics scheme for RedBud). Again, evaluate how things have gone. If the performance has dramitically changed for the better since the RMZ, stay on the CRF. If it is similar to the bad performance that warranted the change to the CRF, then move on to the next phase...

Step 3:

Build/test/practice/race a KXF for the next 2 rounds, leading into the 2 week break before Steel City. Same as before, evaluate. Either switch back to the RMZ or CRF if the KXF makes things drastically worse. If it remains the same then move on to the next step...

Step 4:

Build/test/practice/race a SXF for the final 2 rounds.

This would effectively give James practice and race time on all 4 other major brands and TRULY show if it is the bike, or if it is a problem with James himself. It would leave no stones unturned, and give the fans one full MX season with James competing. It may or may not open doors for him with any of those manufacturers too. But if at that point he chooses to retire he can do so knowing that he did everything he could to extend his career and make things work

In my opion, I think one of the options should be to take the opportunity to watch this movie. It worked for Stella.

not bad suggestions...

but step 1 should be

challenge Ricky to a race in a couple stock cars at a location of his choice. if James wins, then time to tell Gibbs to man up and get him into the cars ASAP. if James loses, then time to kiss the nascar talk bye-bye and move on to the rest of the steps in your list.

I think you're right, Jason. Stella's situation is eerily similar to James's, or at least what we know about James's situation.

From IMDb: Stella is a highly successful, forty-something San Francisco stock broker who is persuaded by her colorful New York girlfriend Delilah to take a well deserved, first-class vacation to Jamaica. As she soaks in the beauty of the island, she encounters a strapping, young islander, Winston Shakespeare. His pursuits for her turn into a hot and steamy romance that forces Stella to take personal inventory of her life and try to find a balance between her desire for love and companionship, and the responsibilities of mother and corporate executive.

Stewart is a highly successful twenty-something supercross racer who is persuaded by his colorful and overbearing father Big James to sign a contract to ride for Joe Gibbs Racing. As he tests his new bike on JGR's secluded private supercross track, Stewart encounters a strapping young track maintenance crew member, Winston Shakespeare. Winston's pursuits of Stewart turns into a hot and steamy romance that forces Stewart to take personal inventory of his life and try to find a balance between his desire for love and companionship, and the responsibilities of being a professional athlete.

It really does seems like James is still searching for that balance. Does anyone have the DVD we can send him? If you're not too attached, I mean. I checked eBay but even well-used copies are like $130.

James in a race car is a joke, People other than jgr employees that witnessed his "try out" at south boston speedway in the late model said he sucked. a second a lap off the usual pace. Unless I have been given info thats not correct I just dont see that route happening anytime in the near future.

the bike deal is really personal............RV had no problems with Kawasaki and Reed did........even RV reached another level on the 12 from the 11...........yeah sure some other problems but just because Milsaps is workin with it and James ain't doesn't make it the fault of one or the other.........they just can't get along...........I believe

Havent the newer yamaha's had issues with front end feel? like the dubach kit to move the motor forward for more front end bite. That being said could weight and height be a factor? milsaps is considerably taller and heavier than james. Maybe a bigger rider gels well with the bike and the smaller guy doesnt.

has anyone ever given the thought to james being stuborn and not wanted to try things jgr has offered. I know they put that custom tank on the bike for his comfort but what about softer front end, james has always been known as a guy who runs one of the stiffest set ups in the game.

Stewart will never be dominant like he was a few years ago. I don't care what team or what bike you put him on.

Only by climbing the secret mountain, plucking the blue flower, and seeking out the High Priest of Triples will he knoweth the truth...

I would think the Gibbs know all about patience and letting it come to them. Seems like this relationship really wasn't given a chance. Unless James just straight up hates the bike, which might be true. Is it hard to feel safe when you are routinely getting chucked over the bars?

for sure not as dominant because RV has the mojo...........BUT if he can get comfortable and confident there is not one other guy anywhere close that can give RV a run for the money.........not opinion, fact.........game is mental no one will argue........it just would be cool to see it again like his battles with RC..........

tryin hard and because of that on the ground equal amounts to being on the podium, and more.........everyone and everything is different but come on all, no bullshit, look at what Reed accomplished when he put his program together his way and surrounded himself with the right people..........complete 180

no offense at all to KTM but look at what Dungey accomplished in a short time on a supposedly 2nd rate bike due to the whole package surrounding him........confidence is more important than anything in this game.......right now James biggest competitor is James...........he needs more than anything to do what he feels he needs to do to win again without anything in the way......

I was fortunate to work with the beast and many many similarities between the two..............the race is won or lost in the head way before you even get to the track.......

Slower lap times is a temporary thing that gets worked out with practice time.
Being slower than the field doesn't stop Danika from getting big sponsor deals and selling tons of swag on raceday and getting lots of airtime on tv for her sponsors.
Won't stop Stewart either. He'll be a major draw in nascar. Probably triple his earnings potential.
