Cool, I am leaving on a Carnival Cruise out of Miami on Monday, to Key West, then Cozumel and back.

I guess I should pack the Dramamine in case it changes paths.

How do you prepare? If I had a 4-5 day notice that there was a chance I could lose my house / family I would start walking.

How do you prepare?
Have canned food and bottled water stored, gas for the grill, candles, make sure the generators are operational.
If you have it, make sure the window boarding or covering for is set up, prepped and ready

Hurricanes are really only BAD if you catch the core. You can miss that core by only a few miles and any damage is minor, like tree branches or a few roof shingles.
Consider a tornado, if you knew a tornado was going to be 20 miles away, you gonna run?
NO! It's 20 miles away!
Same here.
Even though a hurricane is hundreds of miles wide, the worst of the worst is a small area a few miles wide, otherwise it's just a really really bad storm.
I don't even worry about them until they go over 100mph winds, because you can get local storms that toss out 60-70-80 and even 90 mph straightline winds.

The anticipation and wait for it to go through (12-18 hrs sometimes) is what really sucks

I hope it pushes in over NC/SC/GA. We desperately need rain and lots of it. I also hope everyone is paying attention to the weather & news so they can prepare.

this sucks, i'm gonna miss budds for the first time in 4 years. i was in dc for high point and i'll be in pgh for budds this year. steel city will be my only mx this summer. i've been at all three every year for 4 years, but this summer it didn't work out. i have to say though, if RC would have been there I would have been there. Cool

You will have a blast. We did the Disney cruise in 2002 and had a great time. My daughter loved it.

I had the best time on Disney's private island, went snorkeling and then rode bicycles around the island.

Hopefully you will have good weather.
