Ryno is cool in my book. I do not think he is asking for factory bike..... a competitive bike. A lot of people talking shit on this thread.... look in the mirror.

Ryno... take care of your business. Valli or FC.... give him a bike.

Grinning I like you Jeffro but come on...

He finished 17th in the first moto and 30th in the second at Glen Helen.

Some people said he would finish INSIDE the top ten before the GP, so taking into account the significantly higher standard of racing in the AMA Nationals, he would do well to finish dead last in both motos at Hangtown.

Well no you were actually kind of correct, but it was in the Qualifying race.
I was there. Ryno was on the pace. Could have finished in the top 10.

Ryno is a better rider today than he was last decade, and possibly when he was in his "prime". Age is not an issue. He's in phenomenal physical condition. If someone wants to argue his skills on the bike compared to the contemporary racer, fine. But as for athletic prowess, he's a better athlete than all but about 5 guys on the AMA line right now.

If you see most of these riders with their shirts off, they do not pass the eyeball test for being "pro athletes".

On a decent privateer or private team bike, a top 15 would not be unthinkable for Ryno at Hangtown. Plus, he has the advantage of getting a headstart on the testing.

DeSalle is a bad ass. And probably my favorite European MX rider. That first USGP at GH might have been won by Cairoli, but DeSalle was the star of the show that day. Made a lot of American fans I would think.

exactly! (although i dont think he finished top 3 overall? - didnt he get 3rd in one moto and crash in the other one?either way it was a GREAT ride - on a used stock crf 450- ama even stripped it down afterwards to check lol)

de dyker got 6th overall on a stock yzf450 at one of the rounds the same year aswel didnt he?

point being, if you are good enough then you can easily be competetive on a stock 450- you dont need a 20,000 dollar bike!

He can sponsor himself. He is a business owner. If this is a priority, take some of your profits and invest in yourself. As I was once told," your a racer, and every spare dollar goes to racing." He can send his engine and suspension to one of the many race shops to be upgraded, and pay for the work himself. Most of us pay are own way, and don't have a problem with that. I don't understand the thought process of today. If you want something, be responsible and take care of it. Do not post video, go directly to the companies for sponsorship. You are at most of the MX/SX events. Back in the day, " Race what you bring."

I think he finished like 10th overall, but it was also at Hangtown.

He went 8/11 or something.

bet ryno would be happy with 10th overall! surely his bike he's already using to race at the vets races etc would be good enough?!

Desalle is a great example. If a guy who is used to riding a full works bike can come here, ride a basically stock bike and do that well, it says a lot. Proves that the bike is not as much of the equation as most would like to think.

Henry was riding a bike with what looked like revalved suspension, a pipe and minor motorwork. Dowd pretty much the same.

If some of these guys can't even buy A bike, that's pathetic.

And the bs that these guys need these full race bikes just to ride is wrong. There is only a handful of guys that practice on near race bikes.
