Surprised I can't remember more Blue Plate number 1 racers.
More of a surprise that District 36 or the AMA doesn't have this information on file somewhere, oh well.

A few might have blue plated and just having some fun Kamikaze with few more names I remember off top of my head..
Didn't George Holland have the # 1 plate on 125cc I remember him and Magoo going at it in 81
Pit Row
i always raced where the comp/money was and that didn't always include ama d36 races. maico west told me if i won the d36 #1 bp that they would sponsor me on the nats for 79 so me and my dad decided to concentrate on that title, which was bigger and more legitimate than most any other #1 at the time..mainly the cmc #1 plate. in socal it was the opposite it seemed. so i picked up a 250 and rode both class's which was pretty much the only way you could capture the bp #1 plate back then since you kind of doubled your chance of winning the title.
i won it..picked up my candy plate in vacaville and signed on with maico west soon after.
2 out 3 free bikes(fronted for free then settled after 4 months), a bunch a free parts and a fucked up leg later and that was all she wrote!
