Anybody think Mikey 800 will be a factor outside?

He will be a factor.... for the gate drop and 7 minutes after that. But I am hoping he can put it together and run with the Ryans for two whole motos, for 12 weekends. Hopefully he doesn't get banged up like he did last year at Hangtown. When i was at Hi-Point and the rain came last year, he was riding awesome until he dropped her. The Suzuki 450 will help his cause....

Here's a list of people that will beat him on a nearly-every-moto-basis:
RV2
RD5
BT101
BM24
TR28 (if he returns for outdoors)
JS7*

Here's a list of people that will beat him on a regular-basis:
JB10
JW32
AS29

Then of course there are the guys who will beat him occasionally

I think he's going to have a hell of a time finding the podium, and will be doing well to crack the top 5. Alessi will never grab another OA in his career (I have a couple of bets riding on that).

I dunno, that whole camp seems delusional, I like the Alessi's but did anyone see the vid of their interview that was posted yesterday? One of them said " we are showing them factory boys how its done" and what is it your showing them again?

Tony Alessi has warped his children's minds. He controls, not ADVISES; and he manages by fear. Bobby Meyers is burnt-out, as well.

MIKE-GTFO of your normal environment, and choose YOUR program. Don't fall in line with what your Professional mini dad Tony tells you is the best way.... He even determines what you earn, BRO.

I hope i get Called out like Brotocross. LMAO Tony you are so insecure.

I'm actually pulling for Mike this Summer. If he makes out of SX healthy, I feel he's going to be a factor. Don't think he has Villipotos raw speed, but he'll be there to capitalize on any mistakes. He's seems to be happy with his program and especially happy with his bike.

What do you guy's think?
well to put it lightly...

Not a bad argument.

I think BT101 is a wild card (but I hope he effin kills it).

Rattray cannot buy a start, typically. He will have a hard time running someone, who starts up front, down if they have comparable speed, especially since guys can get away with point and shoot on the 450's.

BM might possibly be the guy that keeps him off the podium the most out of the guys not named Ryan.

If JS does race he could be on the upper list.

If regular-basis equals 50/50 or less than I agree with all listed. And I would add DM

Top 10's and 5's but I almost feel Tony has defeated the kid before the gate drops with his talk of his bike not being a factory bike etc.

And here comes PeglegM hobbling in here with an Alessi pube still on his chin. Almost as if we didn't know exactly what your opinion is.

I'll take your little $10 bet, BobbyM.

BobbyM.............

Are you on the Motoconcepts payroll for Mike's public relations?? Do you towel wipe his sack after every moto to make sure he doesn't chafe??

BobbyM's intelligent point of view: "CRYBABY54 has spoken, which means jackshit. what a dork.... "

Yes. Top 5 consistently and tope three regularly.
could happen. He hasn't shown RV speed, but close enough to be in it.

RV, RD, JS(? I think he'll be there), BT, Metty, maybe a few others. That's 6 guys with wins. Top 5 is going to be a serious accomplishment. A bad start could be tough to overcome and points could move around a lot. Mikey could definitely be a factor.

Let's hope this dream season* doesn't crater midway due to injuries.

*Not the ideal, but still some serious players on the gate. Wish TC and CR were healthy.

Ive already have a 100 dollar bet going that he will win a moto this year.

So yeah, I believe he will be a factor.

I dont just think he'll be a factor, I think he'll win races and be in the title hunt. Legit contender.

Nope.

3 second lead in practice last year in Hangtown. 3. fucking. seconds. Thats called kicking ass. Thats called Bubba type speed. 3 seconds is absolutely killing people.

It's too bad he got hurt.

All the kid needs is a little momentum. If he starts out winning 3-4 out of the first 6 motos of the outdoors, lookout. He could turn into the Mike Alessi of old with just a few wins early in the year.

Take a look at the qualifying practice times from Hangtown last year and you will see that the "3 seconds faster " was a myth and reality was .9 seconds. Mike crashed out of the second timed session and never logged a time.

.9 seconds is a damn good gap. It just drives me nuts when people toss around false information.

Top 10's and 5's but I almost feel Tony has defeated the kid before the gate drops with his talk of his bike not being a factory bike etc.
Tony was just looking for sympathy points when he made those comments.

The Alessi's very much believe in their bike. They have full control over its development and every aspect of the bike. Just like their amateur days. No beauracratic bullshit to distract them.

They got no excuses.

Plus, Mike isnt the best development guy anyways. If a rider cant develop a bike to its fullest, a factory bike wont help them much more than a perfectly tuned private team bike.

Bottom line is Mike's bike now is much better than the factory bike he was on last year that pulled a 3 second lead in THE FIRST Hangtown practice. And the very fact that he's "competing" rather than just "surviving" the SX series should tell us a lot about where he is mentally right now. All things look positive on the Alessi front.
3/30/2012 12:31pm
Mike Alessi is a GREAT front runner. When he gets a lead and starts to stretch it, he does work. One of the better guys at dropping the hammer once blood is in the water. Great killer instinct. Just a lil momentum is all he needs.
