Gotta admit, that Honda GX390 on my pressure washer and generator is a good engine. That's where all the mystery gas goes and they never fail to start.

Also, my wife went to the Honda dealer looking for a Metropolitan the other day. Sick

But about that Vital survey up above.....when you consider the number of available 2 strokes against what people currently have and intend to purchase, those percentages are highly favorable for the 2 stroke crowd. Damn shame the Japanese OEM's can't see the demand.

I agree... Given what's available new for 2s and the pro riders and OEMs promoting the 4s, it was still a third of the demand here last year.

I was out of control on just about every two-stroke I ever rode; which led to more crashes. Nose-high in the air, sometimes nose-low, I just didn't have the skill needed to jump the same way every time on a two-stroke.

I am way more in control of my 250F; it is very predictable over jumps, it seems very easy to hold the proper attitude... and in control for me = going faster than I could before = having FUN!!!!

So the fun factor increased ten-fold for me when I got my YZ250F dialed in the way I like it. It goes where I want it to go and is easy to ride; what part should I not like?

Plus I have yet to have one of mine catastrophically blow up; switched to 250Fs back in '03. Started with two-strokes back in 1994. Had a KX 250 and a YZ125. Working on my four-strokes isn't very hard, an extra five minutes to pull the cams, seriously. I'm no profressional mechanic; I worked on my two-strokes, and when it came time to switch to four-strokes, just got out the manual and I knew what to do.

Yes I am one of those old crappy vet riders who doesn't have the skill to ride a two-stroke the right way; sue me. Should I just quit the sport? I love to go out and ride, I'm having fun, and Skeeter; "I ain't hurtin' nobody!" Why the hate on people like me? At least I'm not just sitting on the couch.

This is about the best explanation on why someone rides a 4 stroke that I have ever heard. Kudos for that.

but I personally still prefer two strokes. Smile

Most 4 stroke riders are out actually riding and wont even see this thread, Also, the 4 stroke riders don't feel insecure and feel the need to try and convince everyone else to ride one.
