Here's my new 450. It needs at least a muffler. Anyone install anything yet?

ETA: It has 1.4 hours on it and it's way to quiet.

way to quiet? that's one of the things I like the most about my sons new YZ450F, it's quiet, compared to a lot of bikes. you ride a quad in a former life

I don't think FMF has them for sale yet because they welded up a one-off for the demo bike Barber Cycles brought to Mill Creek.

FMF 4 stroke exhausts are gross, imo, they sound and look just terrible. Throw an akra on it, that thing will purr.

Akrapovic makes 3 different exhausts for KTMs, the slip on, the evolution line (full system)and the racing line (full system). Clearly you've never tried the Evolution or racing version, its not only a work of art but it also makes good gains

Akrapovic is a HUGE exhaust maker and have been the exhaust system to have for many years on road racers..they aren't as well known in dirt but they are the cream of the crop when it comes to exhaust systems.

FMF is fine if you're looking for a cheap alternative

never been a fan of KTM in the past... but man, that is one sexy dirt bike for being right off the show floor.

Not that you dont know your stuff TG, but Ive rarely ever seen a pipe alone do anything performance wise. "Old guys" are still stuck in the 2 stroke days of when a pipe/silencer combo actually changed the engine characteristics to a stock bike.

In fact, in my experience, the Akro exhausts are the only ones Ive seen give a boost over OEM stuff. And the difference was nominal at best. Personally, unless someone was paying me, I dont know why most riders or racers run aftermarket exhausts. Especially when most people are running modified heads or playing with the ECU mapping.
