Not sure why he didnt re-enter where he went off. brain fart? intentional? oops? I guess we should just crucify him. Or black flag him.

However, on the other posts....... isn't he riding with a really bad ankle right now?

It kills me, this forum has the biggest swing of Hanny haters/bandwagoners ever. 2 races and it is the beginning of the end. two races in which he is riding with a severely twisted ankle right? Yeah, he should have pushed it in the mud and ruts and gutted it out. I mean a REAL monday morning vital quarterback would have huh?

He will be back next weekend as the ONLY H&H rider right now and rip a top ten or maybe a top 5 as he did twice in a row before everyone was hurt and then all the shit talkers will be quiet until he has another bad race.

They all can't be Doug Henry.

Yep that's it, OC.

@Regis

It's not a Hanny crucifixion to say he did something stupid by cutting the track. A bad ankle doesn't matter.

Dungey sat out...other riders sit out if they're hurt...are you implying that we allow an injured rider to cut the track? It's not a bandwagon or anything. I would say the same thing if RC came out of retirement and cut the track....I would say the same thing if Windam cut the track.

I'm glad he'll be back next week. The guy is an awesome rider, and fun to watch. If he doesn't cut half the track out next week, I won't say that he did something stupid. Deal?

I split my response into two sections... maybe I wasn't clear enough. Sorry about that.

I agree the track cutting wasn't good, nor am I defending it. It was dealt with properly with a black flag. I would have had an issue had he done it and qualified for the main. A hurt ankle does not, in any way make it ok to cut sections of the course.

The second part of my response was to the others that bash his past two results as if he is done. That is when I brought up the ankle.

It's pretty obvious, now that I read it again.

I just assumed that I would be called a Hansen hater for starting the thread.

I apologize for being a dick about your post. Just a misunderstanding.

he didnt want to race from last to a qualifying position in that crap with all that traffic, so he tucked in behind 3rd i believe at the time and got some clear track time without racing thru carnage.figured the track out by being behind the front runners for a while then pulled off before end of race. im sure he knew he would eventualy be black flagged, although i didnt see one.maybe i missed it.

He was so far behind he woulda had clear track anyway
i was actually watching him .he didnt seem to be aggresive or hold anyone up while he was out there. i personaly did not see the black flag ,i figured he would pull in sooner or later.
track time with front runners in that heat ,in a clean spot ,then make it happen in lcq.this is what i thought his intentions were

So.................. He had given up qualifying and just wanted to follow the fast guys around to see their lines? Yeah that makes sense.
the conditions were nasty and he is riding injured i believe. he made me believe that he did not have the fight in him to deal with the traffic to move to the front, so he decided plan b. its just how i saw it and reasoned with it.

He should protest the DQ. It's obvious that he was running around 4th place when he blew the first turn and was merely re-entering the course at a safe place without gaining an advantage. Man, the whole world really IS against him! lol Tongue

haha wow...when watching I was wondering how the scroll at the top had him in 5th after they showed him off the track. Well, we are half way through and this is when most people predicted he would make a major decline.

I did not get a hint of this off the T.V. coverage.

I think it's rather obvious he was not motivated to ride in these conditions. I assume if he had gotten a good start he would have tried, but when that did not happen he went to pits. Just looking for a reason.

Obviously that is a let down considering his nice position in the point standings up to Daytona.

I think he was motivated in the lcq...he obviously took the time to argue with the other guy. Again, there were people in his heat race that came from behind to qualify.

The TV coverage actually did show it, if you look at the OC pictures. From the stand it was a "WTF?"

The difference in a national pro and a local pro is line choice. Surprised you guys didn't know that.

IWreckALot, YES, haha I'm not old enough to remember but looking back at the VERY old SX heats a lot guys went through the embarrassing process of 'sand bagging' for a gate pick. I guess it was more crucial then but the ideology was a lot more clear.
