Just thinking of the success they had with dv12 and wey with the hondas. It must have been big money to change manufactors. Ever since they or wey havent had the success they once had. Just my opion.

If you watch the bikes they are riding at the nationals they just don't seem to be as good as the Japanese set up. Now I don't know if its the riders, the team, the mechanic, the bike or a combination of everything but something doesn’t seem right with them.

I was thinking about this the other day. There's probably something to what you say, at least to the 450 class, especially since Wey seems not to have gotten comfortable with the bike.

That said, Wey has been at it for a long time and what you see is what you get; a talented rider who is probably never going to be a moto win, race win or championship contender in the premier class. As faster guys come into the class and settle in, they will push him down the results. Not liking your ride won't help that.

I just cant believe how fast it goes down hill. I hope that Wey can get a shot one last time when his contract is up. The KTM has to be some what of a good bike though. The GNCC they clean house and over seas there not hurting either. So what is the deal with them not performing where it is most important

Don't know but I did hear this rumor I think last year that Wey wanted out of the contract but they wouldn’t let him.

Maybe KTM is just not really serious about moto in the US to spend enough money. They own the off road market which may well be the fastest growing segment of the dirt market and they are very competetive in the GP's.

I think the bike is capable of placing on the podium. Alessi proved this last year, but if Wey has no confidence in it, regardless of whether it works or not, then he won't be up on the podium either "way" (pardon the pun).



Watching the bike on some videos, and in person, the forks look excellent. Id venture to say better than some other top forks if seen.


But agreed, the rear doesn't seem as good, while watching in Texas, the lites guys from KTM were really getting kick and swap down this small hill where no one else was. However, that offroad guy who ran in the top ten in Lakewood went pretty darn fast, and I honestly thought his suspension looked better on TV than Timmy Ferry's. To me, Ferry's looked really harsh in the rear compared to the Katoom's.

What does it mean when the results on privateer Honda's are better than Factory KTM's? Things were getting decent with the Honda's until MDK starting doing their own mods, suspension and whatnot, trying to be the next Pro Circuit. It seems as if there are too may things going on, or going in too many directions. There were a handfull of acheivements for KTM this year in supercross class, like number of top ten's, number of main events, highest placing in an event, highest placing in the series and some other things like that. Unfortunately, those things went under the radar. But hey, they do motors, suspension, sell pipes, pegs and T-shirts now. We'll see what next year brings.
