The April issue has the 2012 250 MX shoot-out.

Question 1: Can you race a 250 2 stroke in the Lites (MX2) class in Australia?

Question 2: if so, why didn't they include the KTM250SX in the shootout?

I know, I know this is an Australian Mag and this is a American website, but please let me know.........

i dont think the manufacturers that dont make 2 strokes would let it happen. people have written letters to that mag and other aussie mags and they dont even get published. the manufacturers that pay for the ads and provide the bikes for tests call the shots, if the mag upsets those manufacturers they lose revenue.

mxa got it the closest when they compared the yz250f to the yz and the 250 sx to the 250sx-f. in both tests they said the 2 stroke was the best bike but both had strengths and weaknesses. Do you really think the other manufacturers would allow their bikes to be tested against a bike they dont even make that would most likely "win" a shootout

Saw the mag at the airport the other day, and thought cool, a real "250" shootout seeing that it is capacity, not engine type for 250's in Australia.

Looked a bit closer and saw only 4 strokes and put it back. Not interested. Gutless effort.

mmmmm your saying that the bike mag shoot-outs are rigged by the manufacturers. I would have to agree.

So the non 2 stroke making manufacturers rig magazine bike tests and shoot-outs. They also pressure the AMA & FIM to rig the rules so a 250 2 stroke cant race against 250 4 strokes.

No wonder 2 stroke fans are so pissed off.

Its funny you should bring this up, I sent them an email yesterday about this very subject. The whoe magazine is a shadow of its former self, check out how bad the website is now. Its difficult to even find an email address for them now. They used to stand up to the manufacturers but now just take the money.

MXA usually does some sort of smaller scale test between a two stroke and four of the same brand. Since pretty much everywhere here you can race CC vs CC the mags should incorporate the two two strokes as well.

The glory days where before Clubby..when GE was alive. Clubster was a poor imitation of Geoff.
