What's the funny part, people getting hurt riding?
3/7/2012 9:13pm
Both at fault, happens when the trails aren't one direction. Hitting a quad is never fun, luckily I was able to ride away when it happened to me.

Yeah, I agree. If I had to lay blame, I'd actually say the bike is more at fault than the quad. Quad went right (customary), bike went left. Now you could say that the bike was going too fast to make a cut to the right, but if that is the case he should have been going slower around the turn.

Either way, gotta just be happy to be ok after a head on. The guy on the ground looked ok to me, just a puss

I've had this almost happen to me about 5-6 times yet I've been very lucky. Heck, I think I've ridden those exact same trials on the video before. Just gotta be super careful on blind corners and blind hills. Even then, crap happens at times. I recommend getting a SPOT just in case.

I was out in the desert on a trail that I thought was pretty remote doin at least 95 mph in my race UTV and was in a power slide around a huge dog leg turn and out of know where a guy on a quad appeared. His eyes were the size of fuckin frisbees, I almost shit all over myself. I felt so bad, if we would of connected it would have been all she wrote for him. I went right back to the truck and loaded her up. I decide, me nor the bike or UTV will ride trails in the desert again. Only on the track from now on.

Why fucken why would you ride on trails even if it is only one direction? Why? Standing in line at the DMV to exciting for you? The dudes on the bikes are more lame than the quad guy. At least he has an excuse.

Wheew barked up the wrong tree on this one. I dont at all think the collision is funny, because I myself have on multiple occasions almost became a victim of people riding on the wrong side of the trail like the guy on the quad was. Guess after a long day me and my roommate just had a little laugh about the fact that he urinated himself. And i would not have found it funny if they were both extremely injured.
But to answer to you BrianFagen9- you dont have any bit to judge me and my right to be involved in such a community. I myself do everything i can to keep the local trails open and clean as California has been really taking a hit the past couple years as far as OHV areas are concerned. I was brought up trail riding and have extreme respect for the land and the pleasure we have of being able to ride on it.

So in closing, Sorry guys no offense was intended. carry on back to JS7 threads.

I was desperate for a ride one day a few years ago and went trail riding with some friends. Anyway I was following the local guy and he had a head on right in front of me. Crazy thing was it happened in the only open area, not around a bend. it was a high speed section and both riders were looking at their front wheels instead of where they were going I guess. The dude I didn't know was lucky to survive. He had a long list of broken bones and was out cold for 5 minutes. Scared the shit out of me so I packed up and went to my local MX track that same day were everyone goes in the SAME direction!! So not worth it. Trails are boring anyway.

He pissed himself and isn't seriously injured, that's whats funny.. Anyone that trail rides takes the risk of having head on collisions and it's never good to see people get hurt in our sport. But it is kind of funny to see the "quadtard" piss himself. Anyone that hates on this video clearly pisses them self when they get scared.

How is he riding on the wrong side of the trail if its not a one way trail?

Trails are just like the road. obviously no written law or rule but the common courtesy is to stay on the right side of the trail as much as possible. especially around blind corners.

Head on collisions are a very serious concern on the trails...that's no joke, and not funny at all.

A grown man pissing his pants? That's kind of funny...

And I used to be an exclusive track guy until one day I was enlightened. Trails are just as fun, and just as challenging as riding on a track. Anyone that thinks otherwise just hasn't seen the light yet, I suppose. But I sympathize, I was once one of you...not anymore. I'll take a desert or mountain single track ride over a motocross track day ANY day...

I'm a racer at heart though, I like to go in circles....I just prefer those circles be 10 or 20 miles long these days, rather than 1 or 2 miles long.

the OP wasn't saying the crash or the possibility of the dude being hurt was funny.

he was saying that the first words out of quadBRO's mouth "I PISSED MYSELF" was funny.

guy definitely pisses himself on the reg, whether a yz250 is coming at him or he misses the second rung in a monkey-bar.

some of you guys take shit a little too seriously sometimes.

for the sake of sticking to the regular Vital banter, head on collisions are not a funny situation.

probably. some of the mountain trails we have here in MT are just brutal. It's a test of your will for sure. Like the Last Man Standing shit. I don't give a rats ass what type of dirt a person rides. If they ride on dirt for the love of the sport why bag on them? Fucking douche is what he is for thinking they are lame. 99 percent of the time somebody says something like that they are a squid themselves!

That is trail 13 at 4 Peaks. I've actually had a head on collision on that same trail a few years ago. I had to limp it back to camp and do some "fabricating" to keep riding that day. I remember my clutch lever dangling the rest of the day, and had to pull it up to use it, eh!

Thank God, no! Everyone was alright, ultimately.

But, when I was a kid, I was riding my bicycle by a friends house, and he was on a riding lawnmower. For some reason, I went up to him and kept putting it in forward, then reverse to see him get bucked around....Well, his Dad came out and YELLED at me pretty good, and the fire hose did let loose right there...on my bike....Had a ride of shame home.

Bingo, couldn't have said it better myself. Tracks are fun but the unknown of what is coming up next around that next tree, climb, whatever is what makes trails take the cake for me.

I just wanna kno why the quad guy didnt pull over and water some bushes if he had to piss that bad. judging by how wet his pants were, he'd been holdin that for a while.

I just don't understand why there aren't more areas of marked trails. Is that not something that is profitable for a track. I race cross country but you can't ever find anywhere to practice around the DFW area unless you want to risk this exact kind of accident.

Not sure if it would be funny sober, but with a few beers it's pretty damn funny. When he says he thinks he pissed himself and then seeing the wet spot on the ground I laughed.

Of course if the guy was seriously injured, I wouldn't have, but he wasn't.

Your right, people on here seriously need to take a chill pill.
