some people know the story behind the bad boy club,. least as far as I saw it unfold, rick Johnson and Ron 'the machine' Lechein didnt like each other very much. Ron tried to seriously take rick out of some races and even end his career with some crazy moves over the quads in LA, etc etc. so RJ decided to beat the shit outta Ron. No one saw much of the fight except RJ had blood on his gloves and got the best of it. Rj got the name bad boy for awhile. around the same time a guy, brian simo, and his brother, i think. started Lifes a Beach sportswear. RJ was good friends with these guys, who showed up at alot of races with him. RJ liked to have the spiked hair like them, and always did that pose. seen below. so the inception of that sticker with Ricky Johnson.
The rivalry continued over to one of the supercross 's at the collesuem. with Wardy and Lechien both takeing RJ out in the first turn. i think it was 86 or 87. Rick Johnson came from dead last in that race to pass Guy Cooper #44 I think, on the last lap to win it. perhaps the fastest supercross moto anyones ever ridden, least that ive seen, no one coulda touched Rj that night
