I like this idea, make it mandatory!

Travis being interview by MXA was asked this question below.

I like the fact that NASCAR has a rookie seminar that actually shows the new comers a little video history of their sport. As far as I know, Supercross or Motocross does not offer this to their new comers.

It should be mandatory for any new AMA competitor to sit through a class that explains how and when and where our sport originated.
In my humble opinion.

How has NASCAR been so far?
It's been really a fun deal to learn a lot more about the sport. Motocross, when I got into it was all I would eat, breathe and sleep. Then, I went to Rally cars and that was all you did for literally seven years—that was the focus. Coming over here, there's a lot of history that I need to learn. I actually did the rookie seminar and they showed a whole video on basically how NASCAR got started. It makes you smile and makes you really want to get out there and try to represent these guys the best you can.

I thought a flat brimmed hat, 4T and an "energy" drink was mandatory...

The difference between Nascar and motocross is all motocross professionals start out riding and racing as kids and "grow up" in the sport. A lot of Nascar drivers come from wildly different backgrounds (as is the case with Travis and many other cross-over athletes). I definitely see the benefit for Nascar. It's not like the AMA picks some random athlete off the street and throws them into pro motocross. They grow up with it - it's in their blood.
