Going to be getting one of these soon for the little guy. He is 1 yr and 1 month old. Just wondering what you guys think of the bikes. Should I wait until he is a certain height or age before I get him one.

Definitely getting the Honda bike and will be putting some Two Two stickers on it.

I bought one for my daughter when she was 18 months old, put the seat all the way down and we were off instantly, she had NO problems and knew exactly how to use it. Whenever your son is old enough to not tip over, go for it, he'll love it.

Ironically enough, the striders picture was up on my screen as i was typing this and she ran over and said MY BIKE! lol

My 2 year old daughter loves hers and it definitely helps with balance right away. Try to get the newer version (ST-3) as it has smaller grips and a narrower seat. You might also want to upgrade the wheels to rubber after a awhile b-c the plastic ones get slicks as they start charging into corners...

Loved it!

Gave it to my boy at 18mths and he took right to it!

Never had training wheels and was on a 12" peddle bike at 2 yrs 3 mths.

Won his first trials championship at 3yrs 8mths

No, we are not trying to be "the next big thing" he just loves anything two wheels and it is a great outlet for him, he will be six next weekend and doesn't even really know what a Playstation is...

He refuses to let us get rid of old bikes and even now still pulls out the strider to do some sweet acid drops of anything he can climb it up on to, LOL.

*edit - i am not sure if they are still this way but when we bought ours and i dropped the seat all the way (like 1/4" from the rear wheel) when i did that, the post stuck out the bottom. I marked it and cut it off so he wouldn't catch it on stuff... something to consider.

Thanks for the post. I just bought a Honda one for my 15 month old daughter along with a helmet. I'm excited. Smile

Guess there is no way to brake on them and it's all controlled with the feet, right?

I got one for my Twins at about 15 mos. Ryder lives for the thing, but Logan could care less about it. They will be 2yrs old in 3 weeks.I'm going to buy another one since I know they will soon be fighting over it since Logan's legs have now gotten a little longer. His brother has him by 2 inches and 6 lbs.Tongue

Got one for my son's 2nd birthday and he loves it! He is already charging down hills with feet up, coasting around corners and generally looking more stable than his 6-YO sister, who learned on a training-wheel equipped bike. Definitely worth it!

They should sponsor Tate Reed. That little man is selling hundreds of those bikes. Hopefully he gets the full Strider Factory hookup and goes pro soon.

We've tried both the Strider and the Skuut for our daughter. She prefered the Skuut because it was narrower and she could go faster. The Strider was wider around the rear tire and she couldn't move her legs without hitting the area around the rear tire.

Don,t forget the full face helmet (if you ask why never mind) First time thay hit the apple thay left in the driveway and highside on there chin. Then you will go get one!!! Redline makes a nice xxs helmet.

Those things are made in a factory about 40min. from here. Bought my grandson one two years ago and it was the best thing I ever got him.

Tate Reed now has a custom Sticker job on his Red STRIDER. (Go to the 2:10 mark)

Everything about that video was cool, except when he said "Gotta put our heads down and our butts up and get ready for the next race". WTF?????

Seriously though, those bikes are awesome. My kid is still 4 1/2 months from being born but I already want to order one for him or her, especially after seeing that.

Ended up going with this bad boy instead. We put in a 15 minute ride session yesterday and he did pretty good on it. Actually he didn't want to stop once we started.

They are ridiculously priced but the Specialized is way better with the rubber tires than the Strider. My youngest was starting to scare me coming down the sidewalk so I aired the tires way down for awhile also, that was convenient.

After going through the training wheels thing with my older kids, the push bike is the way to go.

My boy just passed his off to lil sister. Spent about 10 minutes on a 14" pedal bike with training wheels, put him on a 12" with none and he was off. The height of the 14" threw his confidence a little at first but after a day on the 12" he asked to have the TW removed from it so he could ride that...incredible balance tool Cool
