The Seridi cuts very precise valve seats everytime. It is a very good piece of equipment and works well. They cut much faster than a mechanic can. I cut all my own valve seats by hand with a kit. I have compared my seats to those done on a Seridi and there wasn't much difference. It just takes alot more time and it is tedious doing it by hand.

If you can find a mechanic who is good at cutting them by hand, the results will be the same and probably save you a little bit of money. So I guess my answer to you is if you don't want to have it Seridi cut, find a reputable mechanic with lots of experience. Be wary and choose your mechanic properly because a bad valve seat cut will no doubt hinder performance.
