With the bad times in Texas there have been good times. So lets revisit this gem from 2003 of Reed going head to head with RC his rookie year.

From what I recall being at this event, you pretty much hand to stand up to watch the race.

That was a great race. I was at St Louis that year and it was their first battle. They swapped the lead several times before Carmichael crashed. I've been trying to find a video of that race ever since. I'm hoping tblazier will post it eventually. Until then, I'll keep searching.

When the other guy had the pass made on the inside, they pulled up and let them by, instead of blasting through the corner normally and taking himself, or both riders, down. Weimer and Stewart need to take notes. Especially Weimer.

So refreshing. No "rock hard ride hard award" no "take us through what happened...." and no Ralph.

Cool thread! I remember these races and scanning the austar guide to see when EXPN had the SX on!

I loved MX Superfly but hated the Cameron Steele commentary. Looking back now I agree that he is better than Ralph.

Cameron was no more over the top than Ralph and he seems to know more about the race situations. JMO.

I liked it. I lost touch with SX/MX those years. It was a good battle. Clean, respectful. The sound of the two stroke sounds great. The course seemed tighter than today's sx course. Thanks for the vid.Laughing
