Such a bummer, heal up soon Reedy! You could tell from his tweets the last 2 days that he knew it was pretty serious..

God damn. Sad

I guess it could have been a LOT worse but that is a long list of terrible injuries. Poor dude.

Horrible! Really feel for him, he was riding so well.

You could see how much it meant to him after the crash as well... he looked totally distraught as well as sore.

Get Well soon CR22.

Ouch.. no bueno.

Is the ACL the injury with the longest recovery/healing time? Are the Nats out of the question for Chad?.

I hate to say it, but the 450 class just won't be the same without him. He was the only one who stepped up there game to challenge RV2.

Not sure about his back injury, but for an ACL to be fully healed, it takes about a year. The replacement tissue (whether it's from the patella, the hamstring, or a cadaver) will die after several weeks. Blood flow, which keeps tissue alive, is slow into the ACL. So, for several months, the replacement tissue is very brittle, relative to living, flexible tissue. I worked around mine by wearing knee braces, which helps with some of the loads that might tear a dead replacement ACL. But for full healing, about a year. Sad

Get well soon Reedy.

Adrenaline or not I can't believe he got up right away... and was sitting up on the mule as they took him off the track. I would've been laying on the track crying like a baby until the main was over!

I can't believe he was up and moving after that! Not to mention sitting upright in the medical mule..... I really hope he doesn't hang it up after that but given the recovery time a year off to get back to where he was is a helluva climb. Reed is one tough sob and if anyone can come back its reed

Heal up soon reedy, hope we get to see you race again

Pretty much I had the same experience as you explain. I felt it was more like 14 months for what was complete recovery at 95% though even after being a "poster child" for rehab. I was lucky and had surgery three days after the trauma also at Oasis.

This sport sucks sometimes. Damn. I think this is going to be a tough few months for Reedy.

I think he will make the decision to go ahead and retire to be honest. Sucks going out this way but he's strong and knows what he's gotta do and don't think he'll regret it.
