I'm sure the race will turn out to be very nice and I understand that it takes money to run a track, but $75.00/$100.00 per class to register, $15.00 per day to camp in a field, $50.00 for a gate fee. Maybe I'm grumpy today, but why do the promoters feel a need to rape you at every opportunity?

I did not realize amateur mx needed another over-priced round in their series this year. Since Daytona blah blah blah can charge stupid prices, we can do it as well. Sorry, I do not follow the logic. I do not recall seeing my local pro track charging these prices for amateur day after the pro national and there was north of 1,000 riders on the track that day. Maybe they should call it the Amateur Red Bud National and charge $75.00 to enter each race.

Daytona Amateur SX
Alabama Spring National
Erv National
Too many area qulifiers- this is so the national promoter can get up to 64 riders per class at the regional-cha ching
Regional Quali for LL
NMA Oklahoma National
Some other Oklahoma National
LL Final
Branson MO National
Mini O's-

Can I afford to attend this race- yes. But I will spend my money in a different way so my kids can improve their skills. I know there are other "amateur national" races that I'm missing and I apologize for the rant.

So, what defines what is and what isn't an Amateur National? Are you an amateur national just because you say you are or is there some qualifying criteria to call a race an amateur national?

Hey guys, don't shoot the messenger. I am pretty sure Erv would be more than happy to answer your questions via Email. Durhamtown is the property being used, but the prices and so forth are not left up to us. I think regardless that will be an awesome event wort checking out! Any questions I can help you with feel free to email me. Jesse@durhamtown.com
Thanks for your feedback, negative or positive. I like to hear everyone's input.

Apparantly the criteria to call it an Amateur national is simply to spell "Amateur" correctly.

I suspect that this will turn out like another Erv Braun attempt in the Southeast.

Everybody remembers "MX Idol", right?
