Is $700 for a new Concept 2 D with PM4 monitor a good deal. Is there anything i'm loosing with the D model over another model.

I think that sounds like a good deal. I bought a model D with PM3 last year and I love it. It's a 21st century torture device. I think it's great for squeezing in a quick workout. My wife works 40-50 hours a week and is going back to school for her MBA, I work 40 hours a week and we have a new baby so it's hard to find time to work out. I get up at 5:30 and do 5 sets of 500M rows, and in between each set I'll do as many pushups, power cleans, pullups or box jumps as I can and be done with my workout around 6:00. It really is a good, quick workout.

Good luck, you'll love it!!

I got an E model with a PM4 that was barely used for around that price but I really lucked out. If the rower is in good shape that is a good deal. The PM4 computer is nice to have. The model D vs E is just a matter of how tall the seat is from what I recall.

I just rowed 7400 meters in 30mins yesterday. Once you start rowing you'll understand how hard that is. Great off bike workout.

I'm kinda nervous about it. I found it on a website called affordableprimeoutlets.com. They make you pay with greendot or some shit like that. I thinks its a case of to good to be true!

I say this in other threads with concept 2, but make sure you take the time to get the right technique down.

Having good technique on a concept 2 will give you a much better workout and will allow you to make progress.

But yeah what everyone else said, if you do it right these machines are just torture. Best 2K time is a 6:47 and I thought I literally died at the end of it. Jello legs for the rest of the day haha.

Yes that could be the case if you haven't seen it. They are fairly simple and there's not a lot that can break on them however, I did hear that the frame cracked with some of the older ones right below where you sit.......and it seems something could go wrong with the clutch/pulley system (although I've never heard of THAT happening). I got a heavily used D model for $950 and It's bitchin! The first 5 mins on it, you might think, "this is all there is to it?".......but you won't be thinking that for very long....lol....trust this statement!

When I was looking for mine, I came across those ads on Craigslist all the time. Their prices are too good to be true. I emailed them for their phone number and always got generic form letter responses. I decided to not go that route... seems a little sketchy.

I later found a "gently used" Model D w/ PM3 for $550 from someone local.

yup, like the others said, get it.
I have a Model D with a PM3 and love it. Probably the best piece of equipment I bought next to my road bike.
Greg Hammond is the Concept 2 guy and a motocross/crossfit junkie. Guarantee if someone had problems with a rower he'd make things right.

That is a great deal but if you are not comfortable with the purchase structure, pass. Your peace of mind is worth something also.
I bought the D model with PM3 last year, straight from Concept. I have nothing but praise for it and the whole purchase experience, as all of the others here have stated. So for a few hundred more, you know what you are getting, albeit with the PM3 vs. the 4.
