Using the ebay calculator on the listing, my shipping shows $180.74.

UPS website shows $93.67

This was the only thing most of us were trying to point out. Not that Steve was trying to make something on it. It was an attempt to make the listing more appealing by removing the ship calculator and therefore, maybe get more bids.

If there is a next time, screw the ebay shipping calculator and just post this in your listing.

"Shipping charges will be actual cost and added to the final bid price. We ship from zip _______ so that you may get an estimation of the shipping cost."

Then you won't see people going WTF? about shipping.

I'm sure we ALL AGREE this is frikkin cool and an awesome gesture to help out Mr. Morais. And KUDOS to Freegun for picking up the ship charges!
Since we all know that shipping isn't going to be as high as projected, the money saved on actual shipping will go towards the total given to Mo I'd assume. So again, no big deal.

I've been here a long time and to say this is a new low for vital would be putting it nice. We should be coming together to help a downed rider not arguing about shipping.

Every 4 out of 5 mini dads think the local dealer should sponsor their beginner rider. And bikes should be sold for less than they cost. Kenny already forked over the money for the cooler and Steve took time out of his life to set the damn thing up.

After seeing how this community has acted over people trying to help a downed rider on this board I can say that it would be hard for me to help any member here if they fell on tough times

At one time people on this board could put aside their differences when a rider was hurt, it seems they can no longer do that.

A sponsor presumably covered the cost of the cooler, why not the shipping? It is a win/win for everyone involved. People are no longer speed-bagging Matthes's balls over the cost of shipping, the auction will now draw a larger bid, and Freegun has gained brand recognition and the goodwill of the board for chump change. That was a great move.

The sad part of this whole thing is that a Professional racer needs donations to pay medical bills for injuries that happened during a professional event. Feld the AMA and his team need to step up and cover this shit.
