Wow that was a good little vid and a very close finish. Honda guy sure lands hard off that finish line jump. 2 stroke guy doesnt look too impressed.
Oh yeah, I forgot 4 strokes rule.

The guy on the 1-2-5 should have been a gear higher at the end. The Honda would not have caught him.

I love all toilets.....2 and 4 stroke......(mostly 2)

So who won? I couldn't tell. Looked like the 4 stroke dude over jumped and flat landed the finish line for the win???

What was with the "hard ass tough guy" stare at the end? WTF? I am pretty sure they were not racing for the AMA SX Championship there so wtf is with the attitude? It looked like good clean racing. That is the kind of shit I high five a guy for afterwards.

Maybe a little tension over that moment with the tree when the guy yelled?

The better rider won, not the better bike.

With all due respect for your vast knowledge of motorcycles, (really) I have to wonder how much riding you still do and what you ride. You sing the classic tune of an old timer who barely rides anymore, but can't let go of the past.

I'm 33 so I obviously grew up racing in the 2 stroke era and still love to ride 2 strokes, but 4 strokes are also very enjoyable to ride. I ride mostly motocross and love my 250F. Mine hasn't blown up. (knock on wood) I rode 450's for 6 years and never had one problem.

I know many guys who don't race and have never raced who ride 4 strokes because they simply have more fun. A fuel injected 250F is the most fun bike I have ever rode.

Don't get me wrong, I sure like to get on a CR250 and fan the clutch and give it a big pre rev when landing from a jump for old times sake, but after a good moto I'm over it. The whole power, weight, reliability doesn't always transfer to the real world. If you hate 4 strokes thats fine, but make no mistake, some guys would buy them regardless of the AMA, Feld, or the cookie monster.

It's just different strokes for different folks. Some people like 4s, some like 2s. I like both, but want the AMA to ease up a little on the displacement limits of the 2s.

GNCC? That was a 6-lane freeway for woods riders ! LOL

All that happened in that video is that double displacement tractor beat him in a drag race, nothing else. Put a 14-toother on the smoker (betcha he had 13/50) or a 6th gear, and it wouldve ended differently.

2 strokes are pretty much gone guys. It's not really the AMA it's the EPA. They don't even make 2 stroke jet ski's anymore. There pretty much going obsolete unless they can figure out how to get them 4 stroke.

I like your take on the debate. I found the riding style that works with 4-strokes happened to be the one that worked the best for me. I haven't cared enough to jump on a 2-stroke again to see how it feels, I'll stick with what works for me.. But that's ME. Last I checked everyone is allowed to purchase and ride whatever bike they like the most? KTM (and sort of Yamaha) makes 2-stroke bikes right? An option for the people who want to purchase a new, up to date modern 2-stroke every year. I don't see KTM abandoning ship anytime soon, and their lineup has a 2-stroke for just about every style of riding. They also seem to use the customer feedback to improve their bikes, so if enough people really want it, they'll change it, build it, and sell it.

What I don't understand is how people seem to take the AMA rules as a personal attack? Like the displacement rule is the reason THEY aren't out there racing on Saturday in Oakland, or on the podium at Budd's Creek.....Let's be realistic here. If you are posting here bitching, there's very little chance that you were a pro, are a pro, or WILL EVER BE a professional rider. The people who are pros can ride any bike faster than just about everyone on this forum or any internet forum for that matter. And while the rules may prevent YOUR favorite pro from riding a 2-stroke in a race and being competitive today, it doesn't mean that YOU can't go out and race a 2-stroke and be competitive in your local events. As with anything in life, you can't always get what you want. And if what you want is to see a 2-stroke resurgence in AMA professional racing...IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. MOVE ON.

What if they can develop a clean two stroke? It's not the design they have a problem with- it's the stuff coming out the tailpipe.

I wonder if the stuff coming out of the two-stroke tailpipe is really worse then what's coming out the four-stroke tailpipe...

I never understood why guys revved their bikes out when they are rolling up to their stands. Is it to assert their dominance as Alpha Male or what?

Exactly what it makes me think of them. I think it USED to have a logical rationale back in the two stroke days. If you rev a two stroke right before shutting it down, it "cleans" the plug a bit and makes a fouled plug less likely. However, doing so a four stroke is simply a way to make your valves wear out faster....but it DEFINITELY asserts your position of dominance in the pits too.

BTW, everyone should watch the video again and notice the 450 reeling the 125 in going into the turns. A 240 lb 450 out braking a 200 lb 125. Oh the humanity!
