Few say it out loud, but everywhere you go, the back rooms, the alleys, the trusty woods, people are asking -

" James, what THE HELL is going ON ? Is it the Yamaha ? "

I'm not subscribing to the Yamahauler conspiracy, I believe that he can win on the backward-engined

contraption, it does seem apparent that he had less face-to-face with the terrain on the other bikes

though. Opinions please ? Take off your 1992 AXO jerseys and come out swingin' !

92 AXO is the pinnacle of all riding gear. Anyone got 34 waist pants and XL jersey from back then hit me up! As for the real topic, no bike could hold back TFMOTP unless it was a KTM. Oops NFM

Maybe James should pull a MC and run his championship bike from 2009 rigged up with new plastic. Wink Its been almost 3 seasons on the new Yamaha. You are telling me the bike is that bad they cant get it sorted out yet? RD got a "brand new" bike on the top step in a pretty short time.

I think it somewhat is too. Even in 2009 when he won 11 races before the changes to the bike, he just doesn't look the same. I think his ego got the better of him this year. He wanted to prove that it wasn't the Yamaha. I remember mathes talking about a video of James testing a Suzuki before he signed with JGR. He said he thought the video was sped up, James was going so fast. I wonder why he didn't sign with suzuki?

So RD5 rides a new bike from the ground up for a few months and can win a night show and after 2.5 years on the same chassis we are to believe the bike is JS7's problem?

His problems go beyond the bike, 15th place starts are not the bikes fault but they can be blamed for requiring him to run through the pack every week. Running through the pack increases the likelihood of running into someone's bars, rear wheel etc... as well as increase the pressure to run a uncomfortable pace to get up to podium position.

I'm pretty sure he keeps stepping on his ego......

He sure has gotten better at the interviews though. How could you not like the guy, other than his dangerous riding at times?

More money and more years with the JGR deal. And he wants in to NASCAR.

I believe it's not racing outdoors more than anything. Much like simple woods riding for us wanta be's, bike skilla racing the outdoors at his level tunes you into variables that much of the controlled enviro's of supercross don't. Far more variety outdoors, with conditions that change by the lap, little track prep, over/under watered, weather, more riders to work through, longer...so many variables that you have to compete with while battling others that are all progressing their game. James has been loosing the front end, pogoing over the bars and running into others. I think his lack of competing in the brutal Nats is his downfall.

He doesn't look as fast as he once did to others. Maybe all that time off allowed everyone else to catch up and the bikes taking the fall?

RUP....not so much "it's the yamaha" but more like "it isn't the suzuki, kawasaki or honda"

2-3 seconds a lap faster on the suzy webb took to him last year...those are the facts sad to say. i assume he couldn't get off the yamaha without some sort of repercussion/s so he is doing the best he can with what he has.

if coy gibbs is anything like his dad and these results keep continuing, shit will hit the fan i believe,

Stewart's bike is as fast as any bike out there, its just not getting off the line like it should. I don't think it is a secret that James is blaming the Perellis for his poor starts. James' Pheonix Go-Pro video shows him getting a great jump at the gate drop at the start of the main, but he gets swamped by riders on both sides before he is even five feet passed the gate. To me, that says poor tire hook up.

The orange set was sweet and I especially loved the white set. Man I would rock that shit today! Looks as good or better than anything out there today.

I respectfully disagree about 2009. He was flying that year, yes all he had for competition was Reed. But if I remember right, he had a couple tipovers but no huge getoffs and he looked good on the bike. IMO if you get down to it, the competition has stepped up and James hasnt adjusted his program. Racing half the year and worrying about tv shows isnt going to do you any favors against the Ryans

All this talk about unlimited budgets-- bla bla bla-- dont always mean winning..

That yamaha is wack compared to the other 3 bikes and I dont care about unobtainum machined parts and nascar tooling, its still the ergos of that bike are out there in left field. Kudos to Yam for trying to be diff and sometimes you gotta take 2 steps back to move forward, but for the here and now JS7 would kill it on the Kawi (and im a honda fan). Thats what I think this Yam bike is-- a weird 2 steps back to move forward "innovative" kind of thing, not a winner YET.

Add on top of that JGR doesnt really have "the best" working for them either. The best managers and mechanics can be found at 22 camp and RD camp.

JS7 will win, he had a few unlucky moments, he will come around....but a dialed in team with a dialed in bike they do not have IMO.

Oh yea, then the tires suck...really- who the hell runs Pirellis anyway?
