It's got to be hard to be motivated when you're the "fastest man on the planet" and you have to race guys that are faster than you are every week.
And when is the last time you heard Stewart refer to himself as the "fastest man on the planet". Probably not since sometime last year. It is the media that creates his hype, not him.

I wish I could say that.

It looked like the rider just didn't ride the bike fast enough, and without crashing. Once again, he was working his way through fine...with Villopoto behind him, and he just ate shit on his own.

Can't really blame anyone but the rider.

Not a big Stewart fan but I do respect and love to watch him ride. But some of his fans/fanatics had this thread coming to them. I always hate that percentage of his fans more then the man himself..

He was looking good tonight until the main.. had a minor crash as did many of the top riders during the night. He is trying hard, but I think his biggest issue is that he makes a few more mistakes than the others because he is pushing hard, but has been racing less in recent years at speeds where the best riders in the world are pushing 110%. If he wants to be on top again, he needs to be patient and race all of the indoor and outdoor race together with Villipoto, Dungey, and Reed... and get a little more comfortable (eg fewer mistakes when pushing 110%) racing at speeds that are a little bit faster than some extraordinarily fast guys. It might not happen this season after his summer racing hiatus, and it wont happen next SX season if he takes this outdoor season off again. When you win or lose by a fraction of a second per lap, you need to be racing as much as your key competitors... indoors and outdoors, to keep that edge. He can win, but Villipoto is really hot and confident right now, so it isnt going to suddenly happen by magic... it will require him to keep pushing every race, while staying smart and not losing confidence because it isnt happening as fast as he wants. If he skips this outdoor MX season again, he will continue to gradually lose his edge. His call.

I'd love to see Stewart doing better so he's battling with RV and RD but I think the new,younger guys are only getting better while he,for the most part,will be starting to go the other way.If he truly wanted to break all these records I think he diddled away too much time on stupidity.

wow why all the trash talk.the guys having a hard time and will work it out and win some races this year. All of the talk about him being done is crazy. I'm not a fan of his and never have been but still want to see him up front and in the mix. He will win again (at least a hand full this year ) and most of you guys will be right back on his wagon!!
