Reading this was such a waste of time:

They ask him a question and he answers with two or three words.
Makes me wonder are these top mx guys just so stupid because they are home schooled?

He seems to do most of his talking on the track.
As far as the home schooled thing, I think you're missing the boat there. It's like one of those standard go-to lines when fans feel like they're not getting what they want from their riders.

I don't think it's because RV is stupid. In fact, I'd bet very strongly against that. I just don't think he's a very social person except with those he knows very well. Watch him interview with Matthes or Maeda and you're going to get a good interview with great, candid responses.
They need to learn from Reed, KW, Wey, guys that are interesting.
Even when RV interviews with Matthes who he is buds with, all he does is crack at him and say crap. Dude hauls on a bike obviously but he does not have a "fan" in me lol.
I see.

"Stupid" because they are not articulate or an intellectual is very narrow minded and dare I say
stupid. If I compared you to Ryan Villopoto I'm sure you would fall short in many areas. There are
brilliant and articulate people who have been homeschooled and there are people
who have spent 8 years in college who are umemployed and living off their parents. Ryan chose
to practice something he was gifted at and school and the use of words may not have been a
the direction he chose. I have had many conversations with Ryan and young men like him and
sometimes a few words is all that needs to be said. Reading the article may have been a waste
of time for you, but at least Ryan took the time to answer them no matter how short the answers
may have been.
PS. See gharmon quote above
And for what it's worth, I've been around RV when he is having personal conversations with people he knows well and he's actually really funny and talkative.
Maybe he was worn out after the race? Maybe it was the 3rd or 4th interview he did in a row? Maybe he had somewhere else to be so he was trying to be quick? The truth is you have no idea what the scenario was so cut the guy some slack.
And, did you hear him answer, "Yeah, I'm happy." at the end of the interview. Man, what a prick...lol.
