here is the issue for a top level pro and the yamaha as it is now. its not a bad bike, they will say that. its when you push it to the limits of physics, the bike has a tendency to not do the same thing twice unless you are 100% perfect down to the 1/4 inch of line choice. The chassis is so responsive, that on another bike you make a 2mm change and can feel it, on the Yamaha you make a 1mm change is it really changes it.

So, you spend 3 weeks on a hardpack, baked, So Cal track, you have the bike working perfect. 3 days later you are in a stadium with different dirt, and now you are chasing the bike setup a bit when you push it out to the max. At the test track, it wasnt pushing the front, now it is unless you hit the corner absolutely perfect.

You can ride it all day no worries at a 58 sec lap time, but when you hammer down as hard as you possibly can, hit corners as hard as you can, 100% full tilt what your brain body and right wrist are capable of and get a 55sec lap time, then you push the bike into the zone where it is so reactive it does weird things. Pushes a front for no reason other than you over jumped a touch so the fork is 1 inch lower in the travel when you turn in. Thats the issue as reported by JS, Josh Hill, IT, Hahn... Other bikes you over jump a touch, throw it in the corner and go on, the Yamaha, you dont know what its going to do when you throw it in.

for 99.9999% of the rest of the planet, its a damn good bike! Im a honda guy for 20 years, I liked the 2010 a friend got.
Your exactly right. For 99.99% of people out there the bike is great. ive ridden one and do not see the problem the pros talk of, because they are on another planet compared to us mortals. They push the bike to its limits to where that issue becomes a problem. Everyone else are just blowing smoke out the ass and wanna say they there's a problem with the bike when they have no idea, more than likely they just have a shitty setup or just can't ride period.

I will agree a BornA'Lil2Slow I rode the new Yamaha for a year. I tell everybody that you can hit the same line 6 laps in a row and the bike will do 6 different things every lap. The bike is unpredictable to say the least the harder you push it. I was getting Yamaha's free. The thing started spitting me off and I was getting injured. I had ENZO do everything on it also and TMR do the Motor. I gave the bike back in June and went out and BOUGHT" a NEW 2012 KAW 450 the last week of June. Dont regret it at all

Anyone read the new RacerX article on James/JGR? Holy excuses Batman!! Just so everyone knows James was only riding at 70% at Daytona when that POS Yamaha spit him off. Whatever happened to just owning up to riding over your head?

I hope that he is past his issues and has a good season. Has he moved back to NC yet? That would be a smart move for the kid IMO.

i think that applies with the Yamaha.

I remember riding my friends 1997 cr250 back in the day and that bike was horrible.

Every decent rider could feel how bad it was.

To compare the -10/-12Yamaha 450 with that bike is stupid
you completely missed the point. i was not comparing the bikes, i was comparing the rider caliber and rider reaction, which is what bornalil2slow was talking about as well.

easton -This "old man" would set you straight but it looks like terry k and jeffrro 503 already did. Thanks guys...

Kong0036 - I remember that day very well @ GH. He really surprised everyone and i thought he was well on his way to be a c'ship contender. Here's hoping to a new and improved Stroupe to be a contender in next years sx series.
