Need Opinions: Black Or Silver Rims?

Lots of misses before Newmann suggested gold.

Go for the gold!!

I love that the bike looks like it's in your living room. I did the same with my first new bike over the winter. I liked having it so close so I could see it and smell it at will. Lol

Clearly go silver! black is not option on this bike, stick to the clean factory look.. I have black on my yz125 looks hot but for your bike silver is correct!

Exactly TT.. Ive pretty much built the whole bike in my living room..lol.. besides the motor of course.. Sometimes when i wake up before i have coffee i have to look at it.. and also pop out the plug to ake a wif..its a sickness

But there is nothing like having a beautiful woman in ur bed and a beautiful bike in ur living room..ahh life is good.

For the black to look good, you need a black seat. Since yours is read, go with silver. It will look killer.

Argue taste is pretty pointless, but just to clarify, those who prefer silver have no taste Smile

If you need quality powdercoating done, my father will do whatever you want, with pride, and quick turnaround. He did all the black on my bike. It still looks great!

No need to PC a hub. Krylon rattle can from Wallyworld holds up fine and is substantially lighter.

OK.....I actually thought about this a little last night , and something dawned on me. Hear me out for a second......

Personally....I have always liked having two sets of rims with me. Easier for me to keep a fresh set of tires on the bike by just swapping them out. OK.....with that being said........you could get your set with the red hubs/black rims right? Then , take your stock set off the bike and clean up the aluminum rims real good and send the hubs off to this place ( someone will chime in with the name here I'm sure....or I will try and find it ) and you can get the hubs turned down to a factory polished set , and get them anodized any color you want. The place I went to did this service for like $250.00 I believe.

So basically , you could have your spare set of factory looking wheels ( and an extra set ) for $250.00! You could have a local bike shop lace them up for you , or have that company do it....as they do that as well.

I'll see if I can find the link again.

Richard Simmons would go with silver-rims.

Al-Qaeda likes silver rims.

Tim Tebow, Chuck Norris and Chad Reed go with black rims.

WWTWD ?

It's actually amazing that a thread about rim color can go 4 pages long........Blink

Sometimes I wonder what makes a thread take off like that.

I know..lol.. I think its cause evreybody can imagine that its their own bike and what color what they would go with.. I told myself u guys would decide for me and it looks like black has quite a few more votes than silver, but.. i will give this thread a couple more days before the tally is done..

Yeah jeffro.. im sending them to fastermxwheels usa. they quoted me already.. i ship them my hubs, they turn them down, polish, powder coat red, new spokes, new rims, assembled ,lace and trued for $700.. Cant go wrong with that.

Since i have topay 35% tax duty when they reach me in bermuda of the total value.. I will get fasterusa to ship them for free to another wheel shop on the east coast.. loose the receipt for tyhe new wheels.. get them to put new yires and tubes on for me and ship them to bermuda.. so instead of spending 35% duty on $700.. i will spend 35%duty on $200.. Smile

colin, the owner of Faster Usa used to work here....good guy

question though....are you breaking down your stock wheels to do this? if you are i would recommend buying stock hubs and keeping your stock wheels for spares. the OEM hubs are not that bad in price. thats what i did before

Just a bit of my experience. Honda wheels are light, and a bit more fragile than say your excel/talon setup. That said, I grenaded my rear wheel set, and had to replace the stock powdercoated setup with the anodized Talon/Excel black on black.

That's just a little Camp332 tidbit. Kinda like Cameron's Keys, but better.

Yamaha and suzuki have the best oem rims off the showroom. The best wheel set up is excel ,talon combo or DID sxt talon hub, kite makes great stuff, tcr etc. You get what ya pay for.

I have a set of used, red Talon hubs that I'm willing to sell.

Also, as much as I love the factory CRFs, I'm voting black rims on your ride. It just seems right with your polished frame and black graphics.

I was actually going to polish my stock hubs.. powder coat them transparent jolipop red for the anodized look.. they are lighter than any aftermarket hubs.. plus i can use the vented wheel spacers with them.. but if i find a company that makes the wheelspacers for the talon hubs.. i will consider it for sure..
Can you pm me a pic.. or put the pic here and pm me a price please?
